Thanks Burnerman, I don't know much about cars, will it be obvious what I have to do when I take the handle/card off? Thanks.

    Door won't lock

I have a Merc A140. I noticed today that when I press the key remote all the doors lock apart from one of the back doors. I've got kids so it could have been disastrous. Is this generally an easy fix or a job for a mechanic? Many thanks.

    Insulation (for flat roof)

I'm about to bash the ceiling down in my hall and re-insulate and re-board, it has a flat roof above it. I don't know what sort of insulation I will find (built 1970), what sort of insulation should I use before re-boarding. Many thanks.

    Bright idea needed

It's a private road, the residents are responsible for the upkeep, we have a management company that takes care of it. Before I go to them, I wanted to have an idea of what I wanted, like the bollards idea.

    Bright idea needed

I live in a private road, I have a small garden wall along the front of the house, then some pavement and then the road. Dog walkers keep parking outside my house, half on the pavement/half on the road (in front of my gate). This causes problems when someone with a buggy, or wheelchair try...

    Radiator Key

Thanks for your reply. The rad key is the same width all the way down the barrel so it won't help if I cut some of it off. I've looked closely and the bleed point is definately smaller than the key, the key just keeps going round when I turn it. I'm tempted to remove the whole bit that...

    Radiator Key

I need to bleed a couple of rads so I got a rad key from the local DIY shop, a little brass key - it's too big. It fits my new rad but not the old (which is about 20 years old). I have been everywhere looking for a smaller rad key - I can't find anything, anywhere. Does a smaller key...

    Roof window

I want to fit a roof window in my bathroom (probably Velux), the bathroom has a flat roof. 1/. Can I just go ahead and order any size, then make it fit when I smash the ceiling down and see where my joists are? I assume it's just a case of adding joists so they run along the side of the...

    110 or 240 Volt

I am about to buy myself a circular saw as I will be building a large deck. The saw will mostly be used outside in the future. Should I get 110 (and transformer) or 240 Volt, or doesn't it matter? Many thanks,

    Oven has blown

Last night my wife turned the electric oven on, it triggered the main switch and everything went down, at the time we were usinf pretty much everything; iron, ketttle, TV... We turned everything off and the oven came back on, but the oven wouldn't heat up again. The fan in the oven was going...

    flagging patio without hardcore

Thanks WabbitPoo, just to clarify; So if the ground feels solid then don't bother with a sub-base? My back garden is clay and is prone to waterlog - so I would definately need a good sub-base? Thanks.

Makita Circular saw; 14.4v or 18v

I'm about to buy a circular saw and I don't know whether to get the 14.4v or the 18v. There isn't much difference in the spec of both. I will need it for installing garden decks in the main. Should I go for the 18v? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
