Upgrading water mains to 25mm MDPE, Internal piping 15mm

I've just done mine today and I was previously getting a maximum of 16lpm on an ancient run of 1/2" galvanized. I now get 27lpm from the garden tap (through 15mm internal pipe). Probably not similar setups to allow any meaningful comparison, but shows what is possible.

Does 1 inch OD pipe accept 25mm fittings?

A Philmac tee (part 98933300) with a 25 to 15mm copper connection kit (part 99603200) will do the trick.

    Drain Identification/Problem?

Don't panic, it's more than likely caused by a build up of kitchen waste in the pot at the bottom of the gulley. It's a horrible smelly job, but get a pair of shoulder-length gloves and dig out whatever is in the base of the gulley (it's just a big u-bend). You should find that the water flows...

    Washing Machine Problem

Fair point. That's an issue for him. Trade off of hassle vs. potential of needing the warranty, I guess.

    Washing Machine Problem

I'd fit the old hose to the new machine. This will either work, or fail spectacularly. It depends how advanced the new hose is. If it has electrical contacts running through it, you need to keep that hose as there will be a solenoid which is activated / opened by the washing machine sending...

1/2" BSP female to male single check valve?

Great, thanks. Funnily enough, 1/2" nipple wasn't something I searched for!

1/2" BSP female to male single check valve?

I'm looking for a 1/2" BSP female to male single check valve to install onto a 15mm isolation valve on a kitchen sink supply, but I can't seem to find one. Does such a thing exist? I can find lots of F-to-F but no F-to-M. Perhaps I'm not searching for the right thing? I've only been able...

please help me find the right part so I can use my DW

First of all, sorry it hasn't worked out for you. A washing machine draining a drum full of water shouldn't cause an overflow - as I mentioned, I have that setup pictured and I have no problems draining both appliances at the same time. I'd suggest you have a problem further downstream...

Triton Alcor mixer shower dripping constantly

Great, thanks for the confirmation. Will give it a go and if not, it's only £60 wasted.

Triton Alcor mixer shower dripping constantly

My mother-in-law has a Triton Alcor mixer shower in her bathroom, and she's complaining that water continually drips from the shower head when the shower is turned off. The Alcor has two separate controls; flow (top) and temperature (bottom), as per the diagram below. My thought was that...

28 or 35mm bore Armaflex for 32mm MDPE pipe?

It's to protect a new water supply pipe which will run from the front of my house to the back, under the suspended floor.

28 or 35mm bore Armaflex for 32mm MDPE pipe?

Thanks for the advice. Yep, I was going to go for the unslit lengths. I'm assuming the extra air gap between the pipe and the insulation which I'll get with the 35mm bore won't cause a problem as long as the joins between lengths are taped?

please help me find the right part so I can use my DW

http://m.screwfix.com/p/washing-machine-drain-out-kit/75883 That, into the side of the standpipe (about a third of the way down to avoid water being forced out of the top). Will handle both draining at the same time, no problem. Put the washing machine into the standpipe and the...

please help me find the right part so I can use my DW

Yes, what you've bought is for a sink, hence the hole at the top. Don't you want something like this: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Washing-Machine-Trap-40mm/p/431915 ?

28 or 35mm bore Armaflex for 32mm MDPE pipe?

Might look like a bit of a stupid question, but I'm installing a new 32mm MDPE supply pipe and I'm not sure what bore insulation to choose. Having looked at the spec sheet, it seems that 28mm bore is good for up to 31.5mm pipe. The 35mm bore insulation is good for 35mm onwards (obviously)...
