Think hard before you buy if your only buying tools for a one off project think of hiring. If you want to buy to keep maybe look at ryobi 18v tools cheaper than the big trade brands (makita dewalt etc) but still give you the one battery for lots of tools
The moisture meter will only tell you there is moisture (if it's used correctly) not what the cause is.
There are too many people with meters nowadays who haven't been trained to use them. You can't diagnose rising damp one one reading
Your best bet is to call the rep and have him come and have a look.
If it is a material fault Howdens will supply new
But I have a feeling it's been poorly fitted. Which means you have to get the fitter to replace the worktops free of charge. You shouldn't have to pay to replace them
If the fitter cut and fixed the joint correctly it should last years.
There are only two ways for a joint to fail so quickly
1 incorrectly fitted
2 fault in the material
Did you buy the kitchen through howdens?
If so contact them they are generally good in there aftercare
Cut the board with a Circular saw from the back it will only chip out on the top
Think about how the saw teeth hit the board. If they cut into it there should be no chips but when the teeth leave the board the teeth are cutting away from the face then you get chips.
any vacuum made by numatic (Henry, Hetty etc) you can't go wrong
and their cheaper than £200 (about £100)
if you use it for work claim it all back. the tax man wins in the end so take what you can!
the Muppet's who work in B&Q near me are useless they know nothing about building materials at all. but for 3/4 MDF and multi-finish you cant get it cheaper.
