Followed your instructions exactly. Everything working as it should do in that scenario. Valve indicator at its "rest"/default position at HW point when power restored and water heating up as the boiler fires up. Valve indicator stays at this position.

Afraid not Matt. Could you possibly just explain, in simple terms if possible, exactly how this electrical problem is affecting the proper working of the valve. It would be hugely useful for when I phone up my heating firm who look after my system so that I can state my case to them.

All are turned on. The flow pipe is hot right up to the trv on the back bedroom rad (all trvs are turned up full). After this point the flow pipe (and return pipe) is cold.
