    is a surrey flange at the top of a hot water cylinder ok to use instead of tee-ing off from the hot distribution pipe elsewhere, to feed my shower? or is a surrey flange only really used if a shower pump is being installed?

    what tool do you use to undo the siphon nut on a close coupled wc? my adjustable spanner isn't wide enough!!! is there a speical tool for this purpose??? If so your advice would be much appreciated!

    Basin Wrench-what type? Doesn;t fit back nuts!!!

    I don't know if anyone can help me! I have tried to tighten back nuts on my basin pillar taps, but the basin wrench (sold type) doesn't fit them! It's only fits over the tap connectord and not the back nut! Is an adjustable basin wrench better? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!!!

    just a basic wc question-but with a lot of wc's now (especially close coupled) having integral overflows and no seperate overflow pipe running outside-how do these work? are they safe to use?? how does the water get from the cistern into the pan intime??! sorry for sounding ignorant!

    ok fair enough different terms. I called them straight connectors, not coupling, I was thinking of something slightly different. But come on, we all have different ways and I prefer to add a little flux inside the fitting (only to where the pipe will sit). It helps me get a better join...
