How to fit a 22mm slip coupler

inside the pipe? clean the excess flux that was on the outside of the pipe after soldering is what i said (meant)! after soldering i always flush my system through/let the water run for a bit before using it. Slip couplings don't look exactly the same, plus as mentioned before are trickier...

How to fit a 22mm slip coupler

I do know what they are, never used one though. I'd prefer to use a proper piece of copper pipe and solder it in place using straight connector joints. Much better looking on the eye!

How to fit a 22mm slip coupler

I meant soldify not solderize! Anyway what I'm saying is when I make an end feed solder joint, I use wire wool to clean both the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting. Then I use flux and brush it around the outside of pipe and also a little bit inside the fitting. Then I heat...

How to fit a 22mm slip coupler

I disagree with doitall. I think fluxing the isnide of the fitting lightly as well as the end of the pipe helps the solder soldify better. Otherwise you may need to use more solder and have a messy ugly looking joint!! It's all about personal choice but fluxing both works best for me. never...

How to fit a 22mm slip coupler

i'm not sure about these. surely there must be some kind of stop in them for the pipes to sit. i'd much rather just use another bit of copper pipe and 2 straight connector's personally!!!

How to fit a 22mm slip coupler

you will need to cut the correct length of pipe out, and fit the coupler first (without soldering) to make sure it is the right fit. Then wire wool up the end of the pipes and inside of the fittings, flux the end of pipe and inside of the fittings, then solder until you see a silver ring around...

    HOW A PUSH-BUTTON CISTERN WORKS??

I know how an original, common WC cistern flushes, ie the siphonic action that is created in the U-bend inside the cistern. But HOW to the dual-flush (push-button) type cisterns get the water into the pan from the cistern? Is it just force?? Was just curious as to how they work!!!!

2 SIMPLE QUESTIONS! FLOAT VALVE AND BASIN TAP!!!!

It xdoesn't have a washer!!!-it's a diaphragm type (part 3-plastic)!!! But i cleaned it out and everything and it's ok, just a few minor drips every now and then. It'll be quicker to just put a new part 3 in instead of seraching for the correct type diaphragm!!!!!

    3-PORT MID POSITION VALVE REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE ....

I've just remembered that the electric supply to the valve needs to be isolated before I remove it! How is this done-with the immersion heater you take the fuse out of the switched spur. But there's a big screwed plastic cover which wires from the pump, cylinder thermostat and motorized valve...

2 SIMPLE QUESTIONS! FLOAT VALVE AND BASIN TAP!!!!

2 little questions' that are probably nothing really but are bugging me!! Firstly I replaced the siphon in my close-coupled WC and after re-connecting the float valve (part 3 bottom entry) after every flush it drips a tiny bit every 20 seconds or so. Is this just wear and tear on the float...
