How long after plastering can I put lining paper on?

Sorry - there is plaster, just worse for wear. The MDF was boarded over the top...

How long after plastering can I put lining paper on?

The fire is being installed by a HEATAS installer... It's decorative - the plaster hasnt come off, it's just worse for wear with some chips etc... Thanks

How long after plastering can I put lining paper on?

Thanks for the reply. In that case it's just being skimmed, not fully replastered, however down the sides of the fireplace, that will be replastered onto the brick... Since that's quite a small area, so you think i'll be okay re-lining the whole lot in a week? Thanks

How long after plastering can I put lining paper on?

I've having my fireplace replaced and the wall above it is in a bit of a state. There was previously some mdf boarded above it, presumably due to the previous owners not wanting to plaster, and the mantleshelf cut the wall in half, meaning it wasnt an issue. The new mantleshelf does not, so...

Removing radiator for decorating - how to refill with combi

So, essentially the same as the old style system then? Do I not need to worry about the 2 radiators worth of air that's entering the system or does that dissipate on the refill and subsequent bleeding?

Removing radiator for decorating - how to refill with combi

I'm decorating next weekend and need to remove my 2 radiators to paper. We've refilled radiators on a standard system before but can't seem to find clear information on refilling a combi- do I really need to drain the whole system if simply replacing the same radiators? Or can I just refill...

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

At risk of kicking things off again, just thought people should know that I got this sorted - as suspected, was a loose neutral - seems to have been in the root socket. Fixed anyhow. Also checked the continuity of the rest and all good :) Thanks for the assistance!

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

Okay, great - makes sense - i'd borrowed my mates Mm previously, but will pick up my own from Maplin tomorrow. [/url] I think thats my next line of enquiry so to speak. It's possible that i've caught the insulation, but the fact it was working on initial testing seems to make this unlikely...

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

FYI, I've ignored you - you havent added one bit of useful information in this thread that's going to assist with my problem. I was looking for assistance and some people have been helpful, but you've just gone on a rant... go annoy someone else in some other thread - I wont be reading any...

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

Yes, i'll do that. Can you tell me what sort of readings I should be looking for on the multimeter?

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

I can't be bothered to reply to you trolling in full - either give me something useful of go find someone else to bother, but incidentally, the "All looks quite confusing" quote was tongue in cheek. And besides, I was enquiring out of interest rather than something I was going to carry out...

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

Okay, firstly, I do know the basics of electrical circuitry - maybe not a great deal but enough to wire some plugs. I have an A-level in electronics which is a pretty decent founding (albeit around 10 years ago) Secondly, you have to start somewhere - ultimately the job is done now, so why do...

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

I couldnt check the neutral since the only tool I have with me is one of those screwdrivers that light up... It didnt light for the neutral... May need to borrow my mates multimeter again, but i checked all the neutral wires and they seemed to be fitted tight...

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

The original socket that i'm spurred off is still working normally, and there is power to both sockets after the switched fuse, and before xr4x4 - can you confirm what you mean? Thanks

Plug sockets not working, but were before...

I've just installed 2 double gang sockets as a spur off an existing socket on the ring. I've put in a fused spur, and then run the other two sockets directly from the fused spur. They worked before I filled the wall, but typically, they arent now. I've tested all of the sockets and they...

    Vaillant 831 or 837 - advice needed!

While it's beside the point, we generally don't shower together (in fact, one bathroom is currently out of order due to having no shower screen). But the point is that I want to be able to when we need to - not much point in having 2 bathrooms otherwise is there!?

    Vaillant 831 or 837 - advice needed!

How is that different to any other thermostat? I'm getting a honeywell fitted with the boiler... Any particular reason?

    Vaillant 831 or 837 - advice needed!

True - i am mostly concerned with the water, as that's the reason I'm replacing the boiler. I've been told that either would be able to heat the house sufficiently by all the people who have quoted me... I'm a bit confused why the lower limit being further below the requirement is a good thing?

    Vaillant 831 or 837 - advice needed!

Okay, that makes a lot of sense... Also might explain why currently my shower need to be turned fully round to hot in order to get a warm shower... or could that just be that it was fitted wrong!?
