Window sills mate limit rafters placement. lowering wall does effect lintel when I already as low as I can go to the lintel (200mm height 3300mm long). Can’t find a 90 cavity lintel that is lower than that.

Thanks Woody. Rafters will be birdmouthed. Don't really want to lower the wall as it has bifolds and don't really want to lose the height. 25mm - doesn't sound like there are any regs around the depth of the wall plate so will have to think about what is acceptable.

Yeah that would be perfect - but says September 2021, need it in July gutted. I'll call them anyway. I've read elsewhere of roofers raising the top of the windows with extra rafter, is that a possibility? I don't think it needs lifting much to get to the 15 degrees.

Looking at the pitch of the roof with the architect. Its 4m span and at the moment we have 12.5 degrees pitch. We are trying to increase that and one way is to reduce the hieght of the bifolds to 2m from 2.1m. Does anyone have an opinion or experience of 2m heigh bifolds? Are they just too...

Hi, I'm having a 7.5 x 4m 30 m2 extension built. I'm going to project manage it myself and have a builder lined up at a day rate (with a labourer), he trusted guy who has done other work for me. Fully aware of the potential issues of paying a day rate vs job but I'm willing to take that risk...

Yeah def aluminium bifolds. Might have to be pvc french doors and windows though due to budget.

Upvc windows and French doors grey inside and out. Hoping the standard greys are standard! I’m starting to wonder if we just go for a 5m bifold and drop the windows. No idea if that means our design would have to change though I.e. would that need some sort of steel above them?
