Ha ha ha ,yeh Botat....your clever.... Actually it's the home owner. Obviously want to clean up the kitchen ,cheaply. The test is when I unwrap it and lay 1st piece. I'll know straight away if it's any good. Although the info says max temp 75oC...lol

    Wrapping kitchen worktops

I hear what tour saying but I've looked at man t reviews and there's nothing but excellent words when using it for worktops. Although I myself was suspicious, that's why I insisted not forming and cutting tidy corners, but to cover all ends etc using 40mm white end caps. Anyway I've told her the...

    Wrapping kitchen worktops

@JobAndKnock .... £30 for 3m lengths?? Like on a roll? Tbh the customer is ordering the wrap gear. She assures me it's purpose made to cover worktops. 900mm x 5m rolls...Vinyl wrap film. Called d c fix. It says self adheasive and can use hot air to loosen it up to form around stuff. I've...

    Wrapping kitchen worktops

I don't have to live with it. Watching it over those 3 days, degrading....splitting....peeling off. Lol I'm gonna try using a heat gun to form the corners & adjoining worktop edges. Instead of cutting the wrap & creating pleated corners. That's the part I'm not happy about. That's really...

    Wrapping kitchen worktops

Has anyone covered 40mm worktops.in a vynal wrap ? The corners ,I've said to get 40mm end caps . As I'm guessing cutting corners will be hard and won't stand test of time. Also there's a bellfast Sink ,so it has 3 worktop edges within the sink area to cover. Once again I said I will square off...

New vanity unit - big holes around pipes

I wouldn't go that far. It might not look pretty. But you can see the guy hasn't just been lazy etc. He's used isolation valves. He's used correct 15mm x 1/2" male fittings to connect the flexies. And something I never do, which he has done, is install drain valves to hot & cold. So as I see...

New vanity unit - big holes around pipes

Yes as above said.. You could fill holes with expanding foam ..then attach a board of your choice...Maybe plastic panel? But instead of fitting in 1 piece. It'll be easier to fit in 2 sections. To get a nice fit. A plumber should have the skills to do the job for you...even a joiner wouldn't say...

    Remove silicone using Brake Cleaner!

Right guys ,this is where i print my retraction statement...he ha Dunno how I got it so wrong... But the gear to remove silicone with zero effort is AutoGlym Tarr Remover. And NOT Brake Bloody cleaner...Jeez.... So anyway , it removes silicone easier than actual 'Silicone Remover " does...

    Remove silicone using Brake Cleaner!

I also thought that Brake Cleaner was very aggressive. But as I sprayed it onto silicone around bath, I got the impression that Solvent Cleaner out of the squeezey bottle was more potent than Brake Cleaner. I'm not too impressed. But I'm told that it should dissolve and make silicone removal...

    Remove silicone using Brake Cleaner!

I've been siliconing for many years. And when it comes to removing the old silicone to make good a shower enclosure etc, I've never found anything better than hard graft & many hours. But I was told that Brake Cleaner actually brakes the silicone down, which then can be easily removed with zero...

Thank you , yeh I know the issues, boiler if full of scale and sludge. I'm pretty sure the divertor is restricted and so is the waterways from boiler valves to the hex. But I wanted to clesn and fit filter. As I know "Custard" is a tight ass. And I dunno why but I always go the extra mile...

which sealed system cleaner to use?

CalChem vs x800? Whats peoples thoughts? Potterton combi, hasnt been looked after & theres signs of corrosion & crud on most internal parts. Also boiler is cycling on/of f due to overheating. Most probally down to restiction in pipes. If c/h thermister wires are removed & connected to a...
