    Vent valve required?

So a couple of these then? http://www.screwfix.com/p/15mm-full-bore-isolating-valve/46860 Would they also be suitable for the input side, or should that be an 'easy to operate' one (with a lever or handle of some kind). There are no isos on the pump flexis, I checked :)

    Vent valve required?

EDIT Seems availability is the difference too.... :( END EDIT Cheers, might slap a couple of those on then. Actually, that neatly leads me to another question :P Is it 'standard' to put a set of valves on the supply side of the pump, AND on the feed-to-shower side? I'm thinking for...

    Vent valve required?

Sounds like a plan, especially as I know I've had gate valves get stuck before, (when I moved in they hadn't been moved in who-knows-how-long, some freed up, some didn't!). Sooo.... taking a look at good ol' screwfix, any idea what the difference is between these 2 items, (except the price!)...

    Vent valve required?

I'm happy to presume it is a surrey flange, as it is that same feed that was previously feeding the powershower that was in the bathroom originally. The cold feed from the loft is also only 15mm, but again that is fairly short as the cold water storage tank is in the loft directly above the...

    Vent valve required?

Thanks for your reply :) I think it is a Surrey Flange, I couldn't remember the correct name for it. I've now managed to take a photo of the current layout, which is hopefully an improvement on the ASCII art :P From this you can see the flange on the top of the tank, and from your...

    Vent valve required?

I'm installing a shower pump in the airing cupboard. At the moment there is a 15mm hot feed that comes out of the top of the hotwater cylinder alongside the main 22mm feed. The 22mm then travels horizontally to the center of a T, where it travels vertically up as a vent, and vertically down to...

Pipework to shower pump (Mira PPT 3)

Anyone? I was hoping to get this piped up today is all... Thanks :)

Pipework to shower pump (Mira PPT 3)

I am in the process of replacing a power shower that gave up. It was plumbed with a 15mm feed from the cold tank in the loft, through the airing cupbaord and into the shower. Similarly the hot feed comes through a shared flange in the top of the hot water tank in the airing cupboard and ran...

Drilling a hole through fitted tiles.

Cheers, with any luck tomorrow will be cutting day :)

Drilling a hole through fitted tiles.

In the end my local screwfix didn't have any of the dewalt 20mm diamond drill bit, so I got one of THESE FROM B&Q Hopefully it will do the job as it looks like it is the same thing :)

Drilling a hole through fitted tiles.

Thanks for the replies. So this: http://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-20mm-diamond-tile-drill-bit/49690# a template to hold it in place, and taking it slow and steady should be ok? As I don't have the arbour arbor already then the Disston would work out more expensive and I 'think' you (seco)...

Drilling a hole through fitted tiles.

I wasn't sure where to place this, tiling or plumbing, so if it's wrong please excuse me :) I am fitting a shower into a bathroom that is already tiled etc. It is a Mira mixer shower, and comes with the 'dog-leg' style plumbing fittings, so I've opted to get one of THESE Mira Valve...

    Air in heating system

So basically I end up with a 22mm pipe from the F/E tank T-ed into the system and that's it... ? Certainly seems more straight forward, and I can definitly see how it wouldn't let any air into the system. I presume the air coming out of the system, and the water going into a system can...

    Air in heating system

The boiler is a 'British Gas' Ideal RD2 450. No idea at all if it supports / allows combined Vent & feed. Q1 ) What is it about a boiler that determines this? Q2 ) What is the benefit of a combined vent & feed? Q3 ) How do you plumb that? I'm guessing it would just be a single pipe...

    Air in heating system

Ok, so I've been having a nightmare with 'air' in the heating system and also pumping-over. Originally the pipe layout was like this; Boilerflow coming up the left hand side, vent pipe to the loft continuing up, the main flow turning horizontal. Then a T to the 15mm feed, and then carrying...

    Pumping over, only on CH

Ironically the only place there is a slight attraction to the magnet is on the actually vent pipe a couple of feet above where it T's off the main flow. I've not worried about that though as I would think if it was anything to be concerned about it would actually be stopping the pumping over...

So are you suggesting that something like this mock-up would be better? Vent on the left, fill on the right
