Alpha ETec33 boiler with Hive or Nest?

Thanks for all the help Ian, attaching pictures of the Alpha smartstat - to be honest, feels quote cheap and toyish!!! Q1: Do I really gain anything from replacing this with a Nest - tbh, I've already ordered it so, its kind of a moot.question - physically, the Nest is a damn sight prettier...

    Alpha e-tec plus 33 / ideal vogue

If I were you, I'd check with the installer again, AFAIK, the Alpha ETec can be fitted with an "EasyStat" wireless controller - but, it is truly wireless, there is no wall mounted thermostat that you can replace with a Hive smart controller - I took that to mean, there is no possibility to...

Retro install Thermostat (or Hive/Nest or similar) to viessman 200 without weather compensation

Hello, Returning to the UK after 8 years with very limited knowledge of how the home heating system works - so please bear with me. I got a Viessman Vitodens 200 WB2b Combi boiler installed in my house 10 years ago. Owing to budgetary constraints, I didnt go for the "Weather Compensation"...

    Adding a second wireless router.

Most cordless telephones, and some baby monitors do actually operate at the 2.4 ghz frequency. Irrespective, I was simply stating my personal experience, and the fact that a majority of the population is not really into HAM radio, and most folks probably listen to the radio only in their cars...

    Adding a second wireless router.

Since you took the time to reply, I'll revert: ,your concerns, whether they're valid or not, don't really apply to this adaptor as its not a powerline adaptor. Running cables is not always an option as not everyone wants to spend time or money crawling through attic and eve spaces. Wifi...

    Adding a second wireless router.

Any particular reason why you say that?.. any link to support?.. these adaptors just use the wall outlet to power themselves, all networking is on wifi - no different to connecting a power adaptor to run a iphone charger or similar. Do you understand how these work?

Is this how Combi boiler systems work, or I have cross cnxn?

Thanks for the response Jay. I guess this means there is either an interconnection (unlikely as after the new boiler was installed in 2010, I lived in the property for over 2 yrs and never had a problem with hot water temperature), or likely one of the mixers, showers or tap, have started...

Is this how Combi boiler systems work, or I have cross cnxn?

My property is on rent now and the new tenants have reported a strange problem which I and 2 previous tenants never noticed in the last 5 years. They first complained the boiler was only working intermittently. Luckily I had extended warranty with Viessman and they came and checked it out and...

    Adding a second wireless router.

I gather from your posting you're not very familiar with networking - instead of trying to run ethernet cables, playing with network settings, DHCP etc, get one of these (or the UK equivalent)...

    Does Howdens/B&Q Anyone else do 726mm (W) x 1980 (H) 6 P

Its the 726 width that I'm having trouble locating, a 726mm width x 1981mm Height door - this particuar aspect ratio seems to be missing.
