    Bath drops when full

I've recently moved home into a 10year old house and one of the things i've noticed is that the bath drops a few mm when full which leaves a gap between the tiles and bath for water to get past when the kids are splashing about. The floorboards are the chipboard type and look to be 22m thick...

    Painting wooden driveway gates

i need to freshen up the wooden gates to my driveway and looking for tips and recommendations for a suitable paint. Looking around it seems most wood products are aimed towards fences and are stains/ sealers rather than paints. Any tips or recommendations welcome

    Insulating a garage

I'm not necessarily converting my garage but just trying to prevent it getting so cold and damp in the winter so it does't ruin all my tools and other things stored in there. Any recommendations on insulation thickness and types?

    Insulating a garage

That's a fair point about the ventilation. What' s the best way to introduce ventilation as well? I plan to do the ceiling but not sure what I can do about the concrete floor?

    Insulating a garage

Now that the weather has turned and temperatures have dropped I've noticed my garage is cold and damp which is making everything else damp. I'm looking to insulate the brick walls but after some ideas on the best way to do this without losing too much space. My initial thoughts are to build a...

    Replacing Scart cables with HDMI

That's what I suspect may have happened. I'm less concerned about the scart cables being plastered in without conduit than i am about the power cable that was run as a spur from a socket to create a power point behind the television. :?

    Replacing Scart cables with HDMI

Doesn't look like this is going to be possible after all as the scary cables feel really tight and not sure if a conduit was used based on the way the power socket had been relocated so it may be that I do away with the wall mounted TV for now.

    Replacing Scart cables with HDMI

I've just moved int a new house which has the TV mounted on the wall with all cable neatly channelled in to the wall. However the TV that is currently in place is an old Plasma unit with scart connections and I know want to replace it with my LED Smart TV and make use of the HDMI to connect to...

    Ideal Icos HE24 noisey

Just to make it very clear from the outset, the purpose of this post is not to seek advice to enable me to carry out repairs myself but to educate myself to avoid being ripped off. I have just moved to a home which is fitted with an Ideal Icos HE24 boiler (same as my previous home) and it...

    Cleaning Grout

I've noticed that the white grout in my shower has now started to discolour so I'm keen to give it a bit of a clean up before it goes too far rather than have to replace it. Can anyone recommend a good product to bring the grout back to it's former glory?

    Bathroom sink drainage

looks like a good product. Do you think it's the venting that's an issue or the way the pipes run? The more I look at it then the more I think the chrome plug is too long which then means there's a slight kink in the pipe between the vent connector and the pipe. The pipework is sat on the...

    Bathroom sink drainage

I'm hoping it's not the run length that's the issue. It goes back behind the wall which is about 12 inches before dropping under the floor and turning back through 90degrees. It's the same route as before I changed the sink but with the only difference being the pipe work is behind the wall...

    Bathroom sink drainage

Ever since I've installed a new en-suite the sink seems slow to drain and I can't figure out why. I've installed it using a shallow bottle trap due to it being inside a floating sink cabinet but now starting to wonder if a shallow u bend would be better? Is there anything I can try to get...
