How to avoid leaving one radiator "open"?

Sorry, don't understand. Can't turn the rad down as it's got two lockshield valves. Can they be adjusted to turn the rad down? Apologies for being a bit thick!

How to avoid leaving one radiator "open"?

Exactly as installer (very nice person) has fittted it - no TRV in hall. Will only solution be to switch boiler on and off via thermostat controls?

How to avoid leaving one radiator "open"?

Different people in different rooms want different temps at various times of day/night. Leaving system on all the time enables each individual to turn heating on/off in their own space. Means room with open radiator gets roasting hot even when it's empty. If it's on a TRV can be turned off/down.

How to avoid leaving one radiator "open"?

I am replacing my central heating system. I want to have system on all the time and control each room individually using TRVs and do not want to leave one radiator open. Bungalow, sealed system, 11 radiators. Old system was Worcester 28RSF with Danfoss 103E5 timer and TRVs on all radiators...

Re-felting lean-to shed roof - sealing an awkward join

Thank you for quick reply. Impossible to take corrugated roof off, so will follow your other advice. Have looked up about the liquid you suggest - found Isoflex, Rustoleum Dacfill, Aquaroof liquid rubber so far and will keep reading. Could I just ask if you would suggest I run the mortar...

Re-felting lean-to shed roof - sealing an awkward join

I built a lean-to shed/greenhouse on to the end of a Marley garage 10 years ago. I'm about to re-felt the roof and read Thermo's advice about using garage grade felt. Two questions: 1. Do I need both garage felt underlay and garage felt top sheet? http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/invt/3223340...

What flowers and shrubs should I plant?

What a lot of hard work and effort. No wonder you're pleased. Just a thought for the manhole cover. Could you make a wooden plant holder on wheels a bit bigger than the manhole, disguising the wheels by insetting them and putting wood edging round the bottom. Make sure the wood is suitable...

satinwood paint odours on hardwood covered woodgrain doors

Every sympathy about your stinky paint problems. I've read all 88 "paint smell" references on diynot  in one sitting. I've been researching non-stinky paint for interior woodwork, from an amateur point of view, after trying all sorts. It would seem that for really sensitive people...

    Plant for the bathroom

I'm not one for bathroom plants either but if you want to give it a try. http://www.bbc.co.uk/wiltshire/content/articles/2006/03/01/african_violet_feature.shtml Small, cheap and quite joyous to watch for new flowers. Even though evening sun is preferable, nothing lost by seeing how it...

    Robbie uk's own brand paint

Good point roughcaster - never thought about that. I'll ring Environmental Health and find out about disposal. Suppose the shelves will have to go as well. All this because I was poking around making a list of the VOC content of my paint stock before I asked a question about the...

Protecting wooden handrail for outside use

I used an internal handrail on a structure I bult to access a caravan. At the time, it was the only thing I could find that suited my purposes. I treated it very, very well with Cuprinol Wood Preserver - Clear, soaking the exposed ends for a lot longer than recommended and minimum three coats...
