Adding a plug from a light circuit

Make sure he does not simply connect the socket straight to the circuit as this gives a risk of overload. If this is the only option, he would have to use an FCU with the same size fuse as the circuit, but I don't think this is a good idea... Spurring off a ring final socket is the best...

How do I splice an alarm into mains power supply?

Is there a socket nearby where you want to install the control panel? When installing a wired alarm, there will be lots of cable routing and no way around it. With all the chasing, you might want to have a seperate circuit for the alarm, to avoid the problems mentioned earlier. Mine has...

    Moving a Plug Socket Question?

changing a flourescent light to a standard rose

[/url] form left to right is loop, live, earth and neutral. In the rose, you will find those terminals and in the current connector block that is the order they are in. So for example all the reds in the left block will go into the loop terminals in the rose. In the block, they are all...

    Brass audio sockets

thanks Not a problem, it just needs loosening, rotating and tightening. Will do. 35mm, but I am able to pull the cables through as I mount it. I have plenty of slack, and that sounds like an interesting idea. I can pull them from the other end, so hopefully this won't cause...

    Brass audio sockets

the reason why I have phonos I hope so, I didn't realise that this would be a problem remember the power ratings listed on most equipment are highly exagerrated, 100W of average power into a speaker is a heck of a lot more than most so called 100W domestic amplifiers put out. I haven't...

    wiring advice needed

You need a bigger JB and to have the outer insulation of the cables within the jb. Also you should be complying to Part P, especially with this quality of work.

    third light switch

http://wiki.diynot.com/electrics:lighting:intermediate Pretty much sums it up. What do you mean you have added an extension, do you mean you have had one built? Be sure to turn off the power at the consumer unit before trying anything.

If anyone wants ti know what the problem was: On Sunday the wholesaler where I normally buy my stuff(including the blue crimps on Saturday) was closed, so I go the red crimps from somewhere else. I used all the crimps, but they came apart when I pulled. On Tuesday, after having run...
