Foundations are dug now how do I put the stakes in level?

Right well I have just finished off putting the stakes in and what a job that ended up being. I used a long spirit level. First I started off on the left side at the front end of the garage where the trench meets the drive, this looked like the lowest point. But by the time I'd got round the...

Foundations are dug now how do I put the stakes in level?

So as the trench floor is at its highest point at the top right corner would you start there and level it all to that one? So set that one at the 300 which is what I want and then just level the others to that which will mean at some places it will have more than 300 concrete in to meet that...

Thanks for the reply, not sure which bit you mean by the header? Do you mean the main bit of wood at the top of the stud wall that runs right across?

Is it ok to tile over this?

Oh too late just ripped them all up. Hopefully there wasn't, they didn't give of any dust or anything when broken but who knows. I tried the heat gun on the adhesive before and it didn't budge it one bit, in fact didn't even affect it all didn't even burn

Is it safe to make a hole in this upstairs stud wall?

Just to add to this here's some pics and hopefully it will make sense: You can see 3 doors here and the middle one is a partition that I created which was going to be the loft staircase for a future loft conversion, this plan has now changed. So because of this there is another stud wall in...

Is it ok to tile over this?

Im planning on tiling the kitchen floor which is concrete. I pulled all the Lino up and it had some sort of old vinyl tiles stuck to the floor. I pulled them up and most of them came away very easy but others have left a slight film of rubbery adhesive there. What I want to know is would it...

Is it safe to make a hole in this upstairs stud wall?

Is there a way of telling if it's structural? There is no wall directly under it. Nothing in the loft above it. The only thing I can see is that the ceiling joists are split in 2 and they join together above this wall. But there not specifically joined too the wall

Is it safe to make a hole in this upstairs stud wall?

The walls in my house are brick downstairs then wooden stud walls upstairs, I plan on making a large hole 1500mm x 1981mm in my bedroom wall that leads to the bedroom next to it. Is this date to do? I will be framing the hole I make with timber to keep as much strength as possible. The whole...

Superb work there! Love the idea of building the frame in the bathroom for abit of a cubby hole. And angled for the water to run off is clever too.
