Copper or plastic pipes for mixer shower

Yes, push fit behind many floors/walls. In re to the isolation valves, I have no idea where to put them as the pipes feed out of the wall behind a cavity wall. The pipes will be covered with the shower tray and tiles once done so won’t be accessible.

Copper or plastic pipes for mixer shower

The only issue with this setup is that plastic pipes run up to the shower plate under the floor and then transition to copper as they emerge from the floor, using a coupler. Given that there’s already a push-fit coupler behind the wall, wouldn’t using a push-fit elbow be the same? In both...

    How to plasterboard ceiling

What's the best way to repair this bathroom ceiling? A section had to be cut out due to a leak, and I'm planning to cut a square (as neatly as possible) and install a plasterboard panel. I'll add wooden noggins where needed to secure the plasterboard with screws.

Routing hot and cold water pipes

I’m in the process of rerouting hot and cold water pipes under a floor and behind a wall to connect to a shower plate. I have two options for running the pipes: 1. Option 1: Route the pipes from the floor, up behind the wall, and through the insulation to the shower plate. 2...

    How to remove sink nuts

I thought the nuts were screwed on i.e. had to be unscrewed to remove the pipes. Didn't think removing the pipes from the bottom ends would make a difference. Obviously not the case and they just popped right out.

    Mixer shower placement

Where do you typically position mixer showers? I'm installing a 760mm shower tray against an 800mm wall and want to place the mixer bar exactly in the middle between the shower screen and the opposite wall. Given that I’m at the first fix plumbing stage before plastering and tiling, what’s the...

Best way to route pipes for shower tray

The line to the left marks the edge of the old vinyl flooring. I’ve attached another picture with the vinyl lifted for a better view. If the joists are aligned like they are on the floor above, they should be running parallel to the pipes, from the trap to the wall (if that makes sense). The...

Best way to connect flexi pipes

I’m replacing my kitchen tap and need to figure out the best way to connect the tap’s flexi pipes. Currently, there are no isolation valves installed, so I’m planning to add them as part of the process. The flexi pipes that came with the tap are 300mm, which is too long for my setup. I’m...

Best way to route pipes for shower tray

What would be the best way to cut the chipboard? It’s either 2 small sections or one large piece. I’d need to cut one section to move the hot/cold pipes and another to move the waste as it’s located in the middle of the tray, or one large section for both.
