Have recently bought a mercedes C220 CDI coupe. Am only managing to get 28 mpg driving gently. Does any one know if this is normal as I was expecting more like 38? Any thoughts/ideas appreciated

Have 1 downstairs radiator which is cold at bottom. If I turn off other radiators downstairs then it gets hot all over but reverts to cold at bottom when others are turned back on. I have tried it with other radiators gagged right back but then only gets a bit warmer at the bottom. Any help...

If you double wrap the asbestos in plastic sheets/bags and seal joints with tape most council tips will accept them. Ring before you take them as most council tips only have one 'asbestos skip' and if it is full you might have to wait a few days. They do not charge for this service

Have managed to get at faulty controller/timer. It has 5 wires,green/yellow,black,red,yellow,pink. Can I get a new controller timer to connect to these. Digital type preferred but as it is an old boiler I don't want to spend to much. Any help greatfully received.

Does anyone know of or have a wiring diagram for the Thorn M30/42, M44/54 series boilers. I guess these boilers are about 20 years old and will be obselete. I am trying to identify how the internal clock unit is wired into the boiler.

Thanks Bab and Breezer for replies. I have removed front panel and there seem to be only two thin grey wires going to clock. Do I have to disconnect these only and extend them to replacement clock? Also can I replace with a digital clock? Any help much appreciated.
