DeWALT DCD785 18v cordless drill problem.

Thanks again for your help and advice. But can we get one thing clear before I "meddle" Is the "gearbox" (if that's what it's called) all part of the chuck. i.e. If I take the chuck off is that also the bit that holds all the bits and pieces that make up the torque options and the hammer option ?

DeWALT DCD785 18v cordless drill problem.

Thank you Gentlemen for your quick replies. Really appreciated. I wondered if it might be brick dust or something like that that's got in there but I haven't used the hammer part of the drill very often. I have an airline in the workshop, I'll give it a blast with that and report back. Is there...

DeWALT DCD785 18v cordless drill problem.

I wondered if anyone would be kind enough to help me please ? I have the above drill but have encountered a problem. The collar that allows changing between different torque settings is working fine but with one exception. I have found that I can no longer turn it to the position where the...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

All sorted now thank you. I took the camera down and partially dismantled it and was amazed at how much garbage, dead and alive wildlife, and other detritus was in the supporting arm. And although the cat5e cable has a waterproof connector I think it could have been designed much better. Anyway...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

Thank you again. I have a newish set of BPS domestic scaffolding, either 6mt or 7mts., which I intend to put up to get at the camera, I'm not so steady on ladders any more and the tower would be on a terrace (patio). I have thought that once this awful weather gets something like reasonable I...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

Thank you again for all your help. I am unsure as to the term fly lead. Is this a short lead from the camera workings to some kind of official junction box that is is till nside the camera ? I am very ignorant about this entire subject and always assumed that some of the internal wires of...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

Thank you yet again for your help and patience. Below is an image of the PTZ camera that is affected. Are you able to tell me if what looks like an insepction flap underneath the supporting arm would allow me access to the connections of the power and data cables ? I have downloaded the specs...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

I got "stroppy" with the RJ45 connector on the cable that goes from the attic connector to the camera and it was the end that goes into the attic connector. I haven't been outside to the camera - yet. There are 2 cables that come through the wall. The ethernet cable that initially goes from the...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

We built the house 10 years ago and asked the electrician to lay cables for a CCTV system and so he had to terminate them where he could. We didn't have the CCTV system installed until 5 years ago and so there were joints that had to be made. But at least doing it like this most of the cables...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

Firstly thank you for your reply, it is much appreciated. I don't see how any of the ends of the cable can be damaged, they are all in the house as I have tried to show in this diagram : There is of course an RJ45 connector that goes into the rear of the NVR and I suspect that the connection...

Ethernet cable, CCTV, RJ45 etc. etc.

I have a problem and wondered if someone would be kind enough to help me out please. I'm not an electrician or anything like that. Basically I have a Hikvision CCTV system with a PTZ camera that crashed about a month ago. NO LINK is the message on the monitor screen. I went round and "fiddled"...

    Telephone call recorder.

I can't remember how much the 'phone system was but it was quite expensive at the time. I think we've had it for a couple of years now, we only built the house 10 years ago and this is the 2nd 'phone system that we have had and I'm only guessing but I bet it was £150 at least. Bear in mind that...

    Telephone call recorder.

I have been having a play today and discovered that our A510A does indeed record calls if the correct options are taken. But I didn't know, until I read your last reply, that the recorded calls, which are placed on the answerphone part of the system, could have the time extended to unlimited...

    Telephone call recorder.

I am able to solder but to be honest, having looked at that I think it's a bit beyond my capabilities (at my age !) but thank you anyway.

    Telephone call recorder.

Thank you for that but my problem is that there will be times when calls are made or received on the other two handsets and the user will not have access to a recording device. I was rather hoping that something would be available that could be plugged into the existing splitter that had a...

    Telephone call recorder.

Can anyone advise me on telephone call recorders please ? I have a normal Openreach landline with a splitter that has 2 sockets which is close to and connected to the master socket. One socket on the splitter goes to my router for my broadband and the other goes to my landline. My current...

Fuel tank breather on a pole saw.

Thank you John. Yes, got the long-ish pick-up pipe with the filter on the end going up to the carb, and the overflow pipe from carb back to the tank but surely, if the tank is completely filled to the top of the neck then the tank breather, even if just level with the bottom of the grommet...

Fuel tank breather on a pole saw.

Thank you for the quick response John. I actually mis-laid the original breather and pipe and I was certain that there was quite a length of pipe going down into the tank but couldn't understand how that would work if the end of the pipe was below the level of fuel.

Fuel tank breather on a pole saw.

Have just purchased a new breather for the pole saw fuel tank - never been involved with a separate breather before, always been done through the filler cap. I have the correct size pipe but can anyone tell me if if the pipe can be any length once it enters the tank or does it just have to be...
