    Yup, as roughcaster says, plug and screw, you wall isnt spot on anyway, very rarely they are so its easy to pack out the battens to make it spot on true which in turn makes the tiling easier.

    as it's solid it's going to be very cold and thats why condensation is forming on it. Hardwall wont help you any more than bonding, imo the wall should have been studded infront of with insulation added and p/board over then skimmed.

    How effective is insulated plaster board?

    I dont know anything of sempatap and I would imagine insulating wallpaper to be next to useless. if you have no water penetration into the building I can see mildew ect being a problem either.
