Potterton only want £290 but that does include all parts and VAT. Plus, it is guaranteed (Underwritten by Legal & General) for 12 months. Said they would have done it under guarantee IF it was just a couple of days over the 12 months.

I am a little confused. The whole CH system was only fitted in nov 2005, hence the boiler is only a few weeks out of guarantee. What are the chances of it being more than a simple problem and if it s what could have caused it? Thanks

So would I be better off joining the £12 a month scheme offered by british gas and hope the initial service that`s included solves this problem? What are my chances of getting Potterton to repair it under guarantee?? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. The Boiler is a Combi HE Plus Ser No. AWA 051950196 AB The water gets hot as usual, then after 30 seconds or so goes much cooler, in the shower for instance, you have to step out of the water after another 30 seconds or so it gets hot again. Same with the taps...

I guess by about 8-10 weeks, fitted as part of a complete CH system, spoke to plumber who fitted it who suggested I contact them and `try` and get them to repair under guarantee. Any chance??? The water temperature has just started to fluctuate. Heating is OK. Assuming the worse...
