I will be painting my garage door black, currently it is blue (peeling off). I assume I will need to remove as much as the old blue paint as possible (wire brush, sand paper etc)? Do I need an undercoat and 1 top coat, or just 1 topcoat, or 2 topcoats? Thank you.

I leart how to skim many years ago and haven't done much for years. Today I skimmed the ceiling (over boards) in our box room. I managed to get 2 coats on the ceiling and I'm pleased with it, I wanted to skim one of the walls at the same time; got the first coat on okay but ran out of time...

Thanks merlin50, problem is, you will be able to see the head. I should have pointed out you will see the trellis from both sides. Might be my only option though. What are they called?

I'm trying to make some trellis out of battens; 19mm x 38mm. I assume the best way to fix them would be 35mm galvanised nails (lost head or oval head). I've checked everywhere but can't find them. The nails I want all start at 40mm. Is there another way to fix the battens, or does anyone...
