Fuse Box Keeps Tripping . . . is it my PC set up?

There are so many appliances being fed from one socket it seems the safest thing to do. Am I being over cautious ?

    Strange Smell

When I moved in to my first house the light fittings were thick with dirt, sticky almost. When you turned on a light, the light fitting warmed up and a smell appeared, kind of cabbagey. Took me months and months to realise what it was. Cleaned up the light fitting and 'hey presto' no cabbage.

Discolouration on roof tiles . .what is it?

Thanks all for your comments. My initial thought and concern was that it was algae caused by condensation from the flue. But I like the bird poo idea. Will keep a close eye out for roosting sh*%ing pigeons. Thanks again.

Discolouration on roof tiles . .what is it?

Hi All - any clue as to why we see some green discolouration down the line of our flue (the chimney is a false one). No other house in the block of six has it only ours. Any ideas?

Fuse Box Keeps Tripping . . . is it my PC set up?

Hi All - our fuse box keeps tripping when we unplug the PC at night. The fuse that trips is the big one in the centre of the picture below, sixth in from the left. I have no clue on electrics but I think it may be to do with the load we have. A double socket on the wall, both feeding an...

Folks - I'm pleased to be able to report some improvement. Kinks in the flex pipe is certainly a big part of the problem. See photo below . . Taps are a nightmare to get to as there on a back wall, no easy access at all. I've been able to crawl under the bath a manipulate the flex...

Well spotted seco services. The photo I attached was one of the old taps but the new replacement taps are exactly the same make. We needed to replace the old taps cause they stop working, maybe grit in them or something . . . . . . its a very long story, best not to ask. Anyway, we were...

New bath taps - pressure is lousy and hot tap is noisy

spec states 3/4" inlet/outlet and 0.2 bar LP. What does 0.2bar LP mean? Minimum operating pressure is 0.5bar according to the leaflet. Don't understand why we have no pressure and a noisy hot tap. Just spent a fortune on new taps so, of course, I can't afford to throw them away and buy...

New bath taps - pressure is lousy and hot tap is noisy

We just had new quarter turn taps fitted to our bath. Cold is mains fed and hot comes from combi system, pressure is 1 bar. The water pressure of both hot and cold is now lousy, it will take 30minutes to fill the bath. Plus the hot water tap is unbelieveably noisy . . . Anyone, any clue...

What the heck are these little white eggs?

No, certain these are not beads. When squashed they squirt out a milky liquid goo. There only small but very well dispersed throughout the roots/soil. We suspected slug/snail eggs but these appear to be laid in clusters.

What the heck are these little white eggs?

We've spent some time in the garden today just preparing for spring and have noticed in our pots of thyme loads of little white eggs, tiny things which pop if you burst them. Obviously a bug/grub of some sort, does anyone know what they might be ? We've ditched the plants and the soil just...

Some advice please . . (photos included)

Our bath taps needed replacing and we were attempting to access them from the room next door (long story . . ) only to find that the wall has breeze blocks in it. We now need to fill the hole we cut in to the wall. I am a complete novice and so would be grateful for advice on how best to do...

    Strangled extractor fan vent . . . . . (photo included)

I see what you're all saying about the potential weakness of the joist. Is it serious?? We're in the house three years now and builders are long gone, were a pain to deal with when we were dealing with the snags we could see let alone those hidden under the floor.

    Strangled extractor fan vent . . . . . (photo included)

We moved in to our new build home just over two and a half years ago. We needed an outside tap in the back garden so had a local plumber fit one for us (a nightmare as the feed was from a bathroom in the middle of the house). Anyway . . . . our plumber has done a great job but as he fed the...
