alarm code - not sure if correct

Guessing the code once will not cause the alarm to activate. If unsure, google a manual and default the codes. Upon looking at the manual, it appears just the codes can be defaulted, with the zone programming being saved. Never done it myself though...

    Yale wireless alarm HSA6400

I don't know much about yale stuff, however... If you say you have tried to clear the fault but it still it won't go away, then i would assume that the fault still exists. Most tamper switches click when they have been closed. Try listening out for it. Alternatively, remove the bracket from...

easy alarm to fit what's best

too brief really, need more info. How many sensors? Pets? Night setting? http://www.e-fireandsecurity.co.uk/visonic-powermax-kits/c640 Start here. Very good kit, hell it even speaks to you!! Just out of curiosity, what was spec on the quotation? Equipment?

Response alarms - Just moved house need advice

That is just a keypad. If there isn't another keypad, then you have a siren based alarm system. A quick check to see if it's working is to look at the siren, and watch for two red led's. They should flash about once every 10 seconds. If they arent flashing, my money's on that the system...

    Faulty accenta 6 alarm

Why not fix the fault? All it needs is a new battery, remove mains power, open panel, put in code in to stop alarm (it might not ring), take battery to maplins and replace. Be aware that there is mains, so PLEASE be careful.

Wired, Wireless or Hybrid Home Alarm System

You should NEVER rely on text messaging as your primary signalling method. Ever tried sending a text on new year's eve? Its exactly the same with the com2400 unless you buy the gsm unit, but it will put you out of your budget. Stick to a speech dialler pal btw, the powermax has an inbuilt...

Wired, Wireless or Hybrid Home Alarm System

A speech dialler would call you if the alarm activated. Arming and disarming remotely, to me, is a waste of time. You turn your alarm on when you leave, and off when you come in. Simple. You may argue that you may forget to set it, but really, it just becomes a habit or setting and unsetting.

Wired, Wireless or Hybrid Home Alarm System

Keeping it simple, wireless systems are fine provided that you buy a good one i.e. Visonic, and do a radio test. 8 times out of 10 you'll be fine, but its better to check. You can get a wireless bell that uses mains power with a battery backup, so no regular battery changes. Hell it even speaks...

    Wireless burglar alarm

In that case then, just order another bell and set it as SCB, or if your really techy, purchase a power supply and a relay, and have them as SAB's. AFAIK, the bell module doesn't have a tamper terminal, so just wire the hold off's and the strobe and bell triggers together (if you don't go...

    Wireless burglar alarm

Depends on your setup. If you have the wireless bell MODULE, with a conventional wired bell, then you can simply wire another bell into that, making it an SCB. http://www.e-fireandsecurity.co.uk/esp-infinite-prime-inf-wsm-wireless-external-sounder-module/p864#tdesc_1 If you have the...

Reccomendations for replacement alarm components pls

Have you got a meter? You'll need to see if each of the detectors has power, then check the alarm loop at the control panel end, then at each detector. The diagram seems ok. Can't think of the top of my head, but does the excel have wire links in the zones? If so, have you removed them...

Optima XM alarm system - all wires cut - reconnecting

Can you not just get up a ladder and see what goes where? You'll probably need a new bell box as the battery in it is probably kaput! Doesn't really help that it has been wired with phone cable. Would make me question the rest of the installation :?

Optima XM alarm system - all wires cut - reconnecting

IMHO, that's just asking for trouble, especially for something as important as the keypad!!!. Why not just buy a new panel, for example, a texecom veritas. http://www.e-fireandsecurity.co.uk/texecom-veritas-8-cfa-0001-intruder-alarm-control-panel/p45 Or if you really must, i found this...

    Scantronic 9853 partition 'B'

1st of all, do you have the engineer code? From what you are saying, the alarm activates when tripped when level A is set, but not B? If so, then either the zones required in the part set are omitted, or there is a part set bell delay set, which won't sound the bells when activated until...

    Recommended Bell boxes?

Basically, the "E" version is an economy version. Only has one piezo sounder as opposed to two. (109dB v 115dB) There are also two sizes, a standard size and a compact one, both with the economy version available. The small ones are good for places such as garages, used one myself. Pretty...
