ESP Infinite Prime Alarm - any experience?

The galaxy seems to be a good system, can take a wireless expander using wired and wireless zones, including a wired bell. The manuals are comprensive, but it may be too much if your looking for an easy installation. It goes over your budget, however...

ESP Infinite Prime Alarm - any experience?

As alarm said, an increased budget would benefit you greatly. Visonic Powermax and Scantronic I-ON are both superb systems. Just a bit of info, the ESP Infinite Prime is no longer being produced, so later down the line parts may be difficult to obtain.

    Intermittent clicking from Smoke Detector

Haha, i didn't mean they had to be wireless, Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole :) All i was meaning was that for a small 1 bedroom flat with no communal hallways or landings a battery powered one would be suffice. Alarm: Bet that was an interesting find!

    Intermittent clicking from Smoke Detector

That's not entirely true. It depends on the type of property (HMO), how long it has been built and if it has been rewired. You generally install smokes, as a "Duty Of Care" for your tennants anyway. They don't have to be wired

Things to do in case of intruder alarm goes off in our absen

Wasn't it the scanny 9800 that could allow the internal speaker to either follow the bell or be on until reset? What would happen in this case, as the alarm isn't sounding outside, but you can probably hear it. Would they be able to break in and silence it?

    Powering a sounder

When a sounder is in alarm, is the current drawn from the bell + and- terminals, or the siren and strobe trigger wire?

    Dualtech detector Range

Turn the microwave range down to fit the room size. :D The microwave part of a dualtech should be set slightly smaller than the area it covers.

Help connecting relay to panel and internal sounder

Too much current then with the odyssey and the soundbomb. You could use one of these in SCB mode, and return the PSU and the Soundbomb... http://www.e-fireandsecurity.co.uk/elmdene-int600s-internal-sounder-sab/p6090 They're really good and bloody loud! I have one in my house. Look better...

Help connecting relay to panel and internal sounder

Which soundbomb have you got, The twin one or the quad? And which external sounder have you got? If you have the odyssey "e" box and the twin soundbomb, then take a cable from the wireless sounder module to the location of the soundbomb. Odyssey comes in at 410mA sounder and strobe...

Galxy 2 12 keypad beeps every few seconds

Don't really do galaxy, but you need to clear the faults before the beeping will stop. You seem to have a wireless system, in need of some new batteries! And by the sounds of things, you don't have the master manager code, just a user code. Get a local company in to get it serviced and...

Magnetic contact on a magnetic door?

The bell's going nice and high anyway, :D although always willing to take advice on board. BTW, it's not annoying people, it's called doing the job properly. Security is a serious thing, and something where shortcuts shouldn't be taken. Josh

Magnetic contact on a magnetic door?

Haha, thanks for the advice! Went for the Scantronic 9651 with the prox keypad. They liked the idea of seeing the times and dates for activations, and didn't want an LCD keypad above a simple set reader, if I used the ADE gear. Pyronix KX Quad PIR, Door contact and a Texecom Odyssey 5 Compact...

Magnetic contact on a magnetic door?

Really appreciate your suggestions guys, but just to confirm... From what you are saying, a magnetic contact that is mounted on a magnetic door is OK. When the door is opened, it will still trigger the alarm, even though the reed is mounted on a magnetic surface. The doorframe wont hold the...

Magnetic contact on a magnetic door?

Need a bit of advice.... A friend wants their garage alarming. The main garage door is separated into thirds, with 1 third of it being the main door, and 2 thirds another door that cannot be opened without opening the main door. There are no windows, and the garage is only 4 foot deep...

outside bell faulty on intrude alarm

An "Engineer" should be able to diagnose the problem straight away and do the job correctly. I doubt temperature fluctuations have a big impact, unless you have a really really sensitive tamper switch. What bell box are you using? What sounds can you hear when it happens? Internals...

    Scantronic 9800 - Explanation of Zones A, Part Set B & C

Its better off putting a contact on the front door, that's the correct way to do it. Forget the engineer programming for a second, put yourself in the customers shoes. The full set is all the detectors are armed, parts sets, (B and C in your case) are where certain parts of the system are...
