    2.5mm2 cable protected by 13A BS1362 fuse...

I found this reference but don't have the regs to hand... Regulation 433-02-01 can be summarised as follows: (i) In > Ib (ii) Iz > In (iii)1.45 x Iz > I2

    2.5mm2 cable protected by 13A BS1362 fuse...

Thanks chaps. For the BS1362 fuse I was working on the basis that I2 has a tolerance at 10^4seconds for a 13A fuse of approx 21A to 25A. Therefore fusing factor to 1dp is in the range: 21/13A = 1.6 25/13A = 1.9 must be assumed due to it being worst case. Mind you 1.45 in a breaker must have a...

    2.5mm2 cable protected by 13A BS1362 fuse...

Evening chaps, theoretical situation for my own interest / learning purposes and to check my assumptions / calcs. One item on a ring final (protected by a B32 breaker) is an FCU with a 13A BS1362 fitted to it whos output is 2.5mm2 T+E radial that feeds 4 double sockets. Fuse type correction...

    Using 68mm downpipe as conduit...

I have a split air con unit and the external lagged pipework looks a bit rough. Is there any reason I couldn't cut a channel in the back of some 68mm down pipe and clip it over the pipes / cables that are bundled and clipped together? That way it would match the existing rain water downpipe. I...

Although not exactly the same and I'm not sure how interested you chaps are but the guys at kiwi powered have been doing demand - response control in the UK for a long time now and it seems to work very well. https://www.kiwipowered.com

    Fence post next to wall...

Chaps, i am replacing the fence shown below. The post that is currently there is in some concrete at the bottom with a timber spreader as you can see. I believe the post has been notched to go over a little step in the concrete raft the wall is built on. I assume as the wall isn't mine I will...

    Installation Categories - Bathroom fans...

Have a google for: iec 60335 test report For an idea of the safety tests applied to a household product. Then somewhere in there will be a installation or over voltage category.

    Installation Categories - Bathroom fans...

DetlefSchmitz it doesnt really work like that. Some designers generally dont consider the end application or if it requires a price bump on the product wont be allowed to consider it. Part of the safety testing submission is the user manual. You can say what u like in there to make it pass. So...

    Installation Categories - Bathroom fans...

They relate to testing but they also relate to the design of equipment. Take a look at IEC60335-1, IEC61010-1 or IEC60950-1 and other safety standands for design. They most definitely do relate to fans at the design stage, to declare CE they should comply to safety and EMC standards. My...

    Installation Categories - Bathroom fans...

I have read a few posts about the supply to bathroom fans needing to be fused down to 3A and I have been working on approving a new product with BSI. Putting these two things together I am wondering if the requirement for the addition fuse with skme manufacturers is actually to make the product...

    Downlighter "F Mark"

Yes I was stating the fitting type NOT saying I need a fire rated fitting.

    Downlighter "F Mark"

Yeah as per my original post I'm not interested in fire rated, I'm interested in mounting in flammable material so the JC94110 should be fine for my application.

    Downlighter "F Mark"

Well after a little digging I found that that F mark was depricated some years ago. I found a JCC document that stated: "F Mark The F mark symbol is no longer required but will not be fully out of circulation until April 2012. Luminaires that transfer heat higher than 90° now require a...

    Downlighter "F Mark"

Is the "F Mark" showing that a downlighter can be mounted in a normally flammable surface still a current standard? Looking at something like a JCC JC94110 IP65 fire rated fitting the manual doesnt seem to show the F Mark at all where as I'm sure the old version of the fitting did. I've got a...

    Bathroom extractor selection help...

Chaps My bathroom is 2.1m x 2.7m x 2.3m and has a bath and a shower cubicle. Using the fan selector on TLC direct I get a fan requirement of 65.2l/s. To meet this I have been looking at the S&P 4" 250m3/h TD Silent fan https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SLTD250SILENT.html This will run...

    New blow torch: Which one?

Flipped over to the swirl tip and other jet that came in the kit and now when letting off the trigger I get a small burp of flame out of the holes around the jet in the burn tube. Is that kinda normal? I assume it probably is but thought I would check

    New blow torch: Which one?

As per the title really, I need a new blow torch and looking for something of decent quality rather than low cost. I will be soldering 15mm to 28mm pipe, using it for heating rusted fittings on cars etc and maybe the odd bit of brazing. I was leaning towards a Rothenberger Superfire 2 but read...
