Central heating design causing cold rad?

I will take a look at this, not sure how to do this yet, but will give it a go. I will also upgrade the 22mm run to be closer to the large room and this will leave 4 rads on the 15mm from this junction. and the other rads will then be t'd off the main 22mm. so hopefully all that will help...

Central heating design causing cold rad?

With all other rads turned off there seems to be little difference. i ave 22 from boiler to end of first room then 15mm from there. I have been wondering if to extend this. it would be straight forward to extend to the start of the big rooms, i.e for 3,4,5&6 rads. extending further would require...

Central heating design causing cold rad?

hi all, I've recently fitted a new central heating system and all has been great until the latest two radiators, they don't appear to heat up like the others. I've attempted to balance the system but doesn't appear to help much. I'm wondering if maybe my pipe design could be causing the issues...

Planning Permission Changes or Extra Planning Application

Thanks for your reply, my main alteration is the rear of our building is currently a 2door 3window affair, and our approved planning application shows this changed to a wall to wall bu folding door set. We are now thinking 500mm of brick work on each side with french doors may be a better use...

Planning Permission Changes or Extra Planning Application

hi all, I have just had a planning application approved (with conditions) but we had a real back and forth as we did the whole thing ourselves. The Planning Department were not helpful at all along the way, I guess they are busy and simply expect us to know everything, or pay for someone who...

    Sound vs Thermal Insulation

nice one, thanks for the detailed reply :) We have engineered wood floor floating on top of 5mm foam, then chipboard screwed to beams. we are installing plasterboard halfway down these beams in the room below so will just add 100mm insulation in a 50mm space and see what the result turns out...

    Sound vs Thermal Insulation

hi, I'm looking to put Sound insulation in the joist area between ground and 1st floor. Knauf Sound insulation is generally harder to find then Thermal insulation, and I'm wondering is there any difference? I only have 50mm of space to place the insulation into, and I'm thinking what if I just...

Door entry, 2 Doors, 2 maybe 3 internal handsets

cheers everyone for your help. I now know that if I lay the cat5 cable at least that will cover for in the future. The 2nd door is the flat entrance/exit so will have to have a check into the problems for British standard on these type of locks.

Door entry, 2 Doors, 2 maybe 3 internal handsets

Sound proofing membrane below wood floor boards

hi, Im looking to install a new floor covering. We have just finished repairing an existing floor using T&G 22mm chipboard. We are now looking to cover this with real wood flooring i.e. Oak boards, something like "Antico Brown Solid Oak Flooring" from bandq. I would like to add some sort of...

    New Treads needed, ideas?

hi we have recently bought a modular stair system ( [http://www.spiralstairs-direct.co.uk/shop/shopimages/products/normal/KOMPACT%20L_GREY-LIGHT%20800.jpg] ) but some of the treads are damaged. On inspecting the treads they look like they are built from strips of 2x2 glued together with no...

Leveling an exsisting concrete and slab floor 20mm

best guess would be sometime around 1890, although anybodies guess as to when bits of it were added/amended. this floor appears to be a continuation of the garden(same flagstone design), but someone has built walls around it! so we have flagstones on one side, and a concrete block on the other...

Leveling an exsisting concrete and slab floor 20mm

I'm not sure what your suggesting, or disagreeing with? I'm looking for a solution for a very uneven concrete floor which I want to finish with wood (for one reason to feel warmer to the feet), the floor has no DPC, and as mentioned I have little vertical space to play with. So rather...
