    Pulling down a supporting wall

a guy at work did a simlar job and hired some acrows, and what looked like bits of Right Angle alli. Apparently they sit in between the bricks (in the motar joint) and support the existing structure, supported by each acrow. cost him about £4 per week each I think. beats a scaffold plank...

    mosaic tiles

can you use the Wicks adhesive rather than plug&screw every 12"? (Just put down a new floor over the connie screed. used 12mm Brazil Ply screwed 32(!) times per 8*4 sheet.) The Wicks option sounds easier and a lot less labour intensive - how good is it?

    External Downlighters

I have, prefer 240V though. All fixings are above where the water could ingress so I think I'll fix them this wekend and see how we get on - worst is it'll trip out I suppose?(6amp on 1.5mT&E to juction then splits in 1.0mmT&E to each unit. Total 6 units @ 50W). Cheers for the link. Rob

    Gravity or Power shower?

quote "or is it purely down to head" I think Divine Brown can answer that best ;-) The pump we used quoted "ltr/min" and thus was quite easy to work out how long we would get in the shower without running it dry. (not that that would happen as you have the feed back in so it would just go...

    removing parquet flooring

We had the small parkie flooring down, onto a bitumen floor. When we tried to salvage it the wood it either split or got damaged. In the end we had to use a bolster chisel as they were fimly fixed - in some cases splitting the wood down the middle rather than lifting up. When we assesed the...
