ok thanks for your help. I'll drill 10mm from outside - in, then 19mm both sides and same with 25mm. is normal silicone sealant ok to fill the gap between wall/sleeve/pipe?

could be 2 port valve microswitch sticking. Even if they close the switch could be stuck still, firing the pump/boiler

Hi Can anyone recommend a decent drill bit (make etc) for drilling a hole through an external wall to fit an outside tap. I want a decent quality one that will do a good job really. Thanks for your help

thanks i have read it is a turbine - so will just replace it as you say. it contains a filter and cartridge too, so could be fiddly to replace with them being kept in place - they could keep dropping it as I tighten 1 compression nut! any ways to make this easier?

ferroli falcon combi boiler hot water is running out cold, heating is fine. I am suspecting the flow switch but want to confirm it. How can I test it to prove, it has a connector with 3 wires. Thanks for reading my post

I appreciate all of your replies As it is just 1 single open point I will just drop boiler pressure and replace it. But if it was a pump head etc with more then I'd drain down more to below boiler level.

Hello all What's the best way to replace a "wet" part in a boiler? I have heard that closing the boiler isolation valves can be troublesome with leaks on re-opening. Is it best to drain down the whole primary circuit or is it best to close all radiators and drain just the pipework...

Thanks - I was being told that having a bigger boiler than needed is best as the boiler won't be working flat out and in future any add ons etc can be catered for. 18kw seems small I feel

What size boiler would you recommend for a 3 bed semi - with hot water cylinder, standard size? I'd like to get a heat only ideally instead of having a combi. Have open vented system at the moment and have heard converting to sealed can cause problems with leaks. Any recommendations please...

i had this years ago - it was a faulty switch contact in the ceiling switch so i got it replaced, but make sure it is 45 amp switch.
