I have a 105e and had a similar problem. In my case the hot water took a long time to come through...turned out to be the domestic diaphragm. I ordered a kit replacement off the internet...took a couple of days... The instruction booklet is very informative on how to replace the diaphram...

I would be inclined to wait until you have it back up and running before putting in more memory. Then you can check it out at Crucial. There are many kinds of memory and a limit as to what you can put into the system...My old laptop for instance has 2 x 512mb modules but can only go up to 2 x...

As coljack and I have suggested the same thing I do not thing its silly at all....in my years of fixing PC's I've used this method many times and its never failed. The trick is to make sure you get the files which may be causing a problem restored first. Even if you don't you can always fix them...
