Domestic wiring question - outside lights

Thanks for the replies, the lights have PIR's fitted as well as being on a switched circuit - they'll only be activated occassionally when someone is round the back of the house. I've fitted one already and am impressed at the speed and white light of the R7's.

Domestic wiring question - outside lights

We've 3 outside lights on our house, single switch operates all 3. They need replacing - this I can manage. However, is it possible to add a 4th light just by tying it into one of the existing lights? It would be approx 4 foot of cable, it's just around the corner of the house, or does it need...

Riello 40 - changing motor, fan seized onto shaft

Hi, went to replace the motor on my Riello 40 and I'm struggling to get the fan off the shaft. Removed the grub screw but no joy, tried release oil and even warming the fan hub with a blowtorch. Applied as much pressure as I could without damaging anything. Anyone have any tips or know where I...

Halogen light transformer reqd (fits in ceiling rose)

It's manufactured by Anchorn, model number is AET-3202CT. 240v to 12vdc and it looks (and size) a bit like a ceiling rose with a 12 mm hole through the centre for the cable. It fits inside the cover of a ceiling light. Anyone seen anything like this or know where I can get one? Thanks

Oil Fired Camray 3 - what to replace with?

Thanks chaps - I've managed to get the chap who services it to come over on Thurs or Fri. He reckoned it was either the capacitor or motor sticking - as you've both said above. Says he has both in stock so hopefully we can keep kick starting it for another couple of days till he gets over...

Oil Fired Camray 3 - what to replace with?

Posted this last winter http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=40787&highlight=camray+3 Seemed to be fine after the above. Had it serviced about a month after the above and now it's started the same again - cleaned filter again but this time it doesn't want to sort itself, there...

    Oil Fired Camray 3 lockout

Update for anyone else who may have a similar problem. Seem to have sorted this now. Looks like it was the filter on the boiler unit itself. Isolated boiler, closed the fuel oil valve and removed the 4 small allen screws on the filter cover (see manual for location) and removed the filter. Quite...

    Oil Fired Camray 3 lockout

Err beg to differ on that, if it's summit mechanical like a blockage prior to the boiler then I'm well qualified - time served maintenance technician. I did also do some Oftec training but on industrial oil fired boilers but I'm clever enough to know that if it's the boiler itself then leave to...

    Oil Fired Camray 3 lockout

The unit looks like it's been well looked after as everyhing is spotless. Today the lockout light came on, reset and away it went. The...
