That's awesome. Many thanks for the advice. Never knew about the dual tech PIR. Brilliant! Smart tech! That's also a great shout too. Smart lighting and smart switches could be the way forward. Plenty of options to think about.

How to enlargen granite sink tap hole

I took this advice and aborted the DIY mission. I got a tradesman in to do the job.. and without batting an eyelid, he took out his core drill and diamond bit and enlarged the hole in seconds. Like a knife through warm butter. Got to be honest, I am a bit annoyed, because I feel like I could...

How to enlargen granite sink tap hole

I have a granite sink and I want to change the mixer tap. I have removed the old tap. When I tried to put the new one on the hole, it wouldn't fit. So I need to enlarge the hole somehow. I have a pic. And the existing hole is about 32mm wide.. So just a few mm should see me there. But I...

Suitable cable to hardwire nest thermostat to heat link

Apparantly the ideal cable to use is 0.75mm 2 Core CY control flex cable. HOwever all of the electrical shops like CEF, TLC etc either hadn't heard of it or they didn't carry it in store. Given the above what other cable can I use?

Can I rewire and certify the work as a non-qualified electrician?

Just paid an electrician thousands for a rewire, which frankly I could have done myself. What I would like to ask is whether legally, could I do this myself? The builder who managed my project, actively discouraged my attempts to the work because 1. He wanted his electrician mate to earn some...
