Help required with Saniflo diaphragm - ZERO EXPERIENCE !!!

Our Saniflo has been failing to stop automatically for some time, just a gentle kick would solve it until recently when it would run forever. Stripped and cleaned and removed the diaphragm. Found the micro switch works as it should until the diaphragm is replaced - permanently compressing the...

Thanks for that Terry I'll copy it to my phone for future reference.

Your help required ... Three way actuator not working

I don't think it will fire up for CH only unless latched but I'll check it again in the morning. When you sat "latched open" Terry does that mean with the lever hooked over the step and locked in place? If so, where is the valve diverting water to when latched? My neighbours son who lives...

Your help required ... Three way actuator not working

It was all stood on timed - turned the HW to OFF and the CH to ON and the boiler lit up - turned the room stat down the boiler stopped - turned it back up and the boiler started - just like you would expect ! The actuator would still have been latched from earlier.

Your help required ... Three way actuator not working

Thank you Terry, Yes it does - I think what I observed was this - The programmer was on timed calling for hot water and heating - the boiler was stood and the radiators were cold - I assumed the tank stat was satisfied with the HW temp - the room stat was at 23 degrees - I slid the actuator...

Your help required ... Three way actuator not working

The heating at my 94 year old neighbours bungalow is going to be changed later this year ... in the meantime it seems the only way to get heat to the radiators is to latch the actuator on the three way valve. Q1. Is it likely I could find and fix whatever is causing it not to work of its own...

    A Question of Symmetry.

Thanks Woody, I’m as far away from anxious as you can imagine :) I don’t think we do anxiety in the mining villages of South Yorkshire :)

    A Question of Symmetry.

Thank you for you continued help and interest. I'm going to have a look in the loft to see what's above the brickwork, I don't think there's anything, but removing the left side bricks would cause another job inside the hall where the Gas & Electric meters are.

    A Question of Symmetry.

The door opening would be 780mm about 31 inch to have the side panels matching each other.

    A Question of Symmetry.

I’ll have to keep the glazing bars in mind now you mention it, although it’s likely both side panels could be installed the other way round and go un-noticed

    A Question of Symmetry.

Thank you for your kind remark about the inside Notch, I put the paper on, and painted the woodwork in 1994 ! Now you have mentioned black glass Ivor, it might be possible to have the glass dark enough to obscure the brickwork and still gain an incoming light benefit on the inside. Just before...

    A Question of Symmetry.

I’m also wondering if the new door frame with solid side panels was fitted a brick width further forward than the existing door. From the outside it would be symmetrical and the inside would be similar to now with the existing architrave ? How do I get the Window & Door forum people to see...

    A Question of Symmetry.

Thank you 'Ivor' and Harry, I know what you mean about the Landrover Discovery :giggle: 30 years ago when we moved in I might have considered a front porch with a gable end and pitched sides meeting the main roof but now I'm thinking something more simple. I can't make my mind up about the...

    A Question of Symmetry.

It’s only broken in half Mottie, but yes it does. I always imagine they will break 6 more getting to it

    A Question of Symmetry.

Something of that nature will be the solution but the brickwork will need covering first… maybe rendered or a UPVC panel to match the door ?
