    CCTV POE... can you?

Make sure your POE switch can handle all 5 cameras at their peak power consumption, plus some spare capacity. Most POE switches can provide 15.4W per channel as a peak - not 15.4W for all channels at the same time. e.g. an 8 port POE switch may only be able to have a total POE power output of...

    Texecom alarm triggered

Hi Was hoping someone can explain this to me. Premier 48 system - I have the garage set as zone A, house B. A few days ago I set a part arm (downstairs of house plus garage). A PIR in the garage triggered (there is a boiler etc in there, so maybe from the heat or something). When I woke up...

Texecom Premier Elite 48, can it be setup with a Dynamic IP

Even if it wasn't, your router may be able to assign a fixed IP for the MAC address for the comIP

    Texecom Wintex upload fail

Yep that makes sense. I've changed the UDL back to the old one now but still the same behaviour. Something along the line got corrupted because the date reset to 2013 and top display line of the keypads is blank. All the IP information from the keypads (gateway, IP, port etc) are correct...

    Texecom Wintex upload fail

OK cool so checked under Module Setup IP and port is correct UDL I am using is definitely same as displayed on the keypads too now So it just fails to connect in Wintex for some reason. It manages to do the first bit (reading serial or whatever it is) then just says check settings and try...

unfortunately not So I just tried my user code and that was recognised. Enabled Engineer, then put in engineer code to check UDL, this is the new UDL I had set whilst the connection dropped. I have now set this back to the previous one which I know worked with everything. there are 2 comips...

    Texecom Wintex upload fail

Hi So I was just making a minor change in Wintex on my Premier 48, whilst sending the change to the panel via the network something must have gone tits up on the network and the connection dropped from my laptop. Now all the keypads show no information (date has been reset, top line is blank)...

    Texecom help

So with your help I installed a new power supply and not had any problems since. Current in Wintex shows 0.90A instead of ~1.25A when alarm is disarmed. For the benefit of anyone else who ends up doing this themselves on the forum, to add a new PSU to an existing system with several expanders...

    Texecom help

Sorry not been able to check the site last few days. Thanks for the responses. Yes unfortunately this wasn't a security company that installed this - it was a home automation company who turns out didn't know much about home automation either... Has left me in a bit of a mess. Both of the IP...

    Texecom help

What a headache. Guessing by what both of you have said the guy who installed it should have known better. In the meantime, is there a way to disable devices completely without unplugging them? Don't need all these PIRs and one of the keypads on with how we use it at the moment.

Doesn't look like any buttons were jammed. There is one battery connected sparkymarka (not sure where the original installer ranks on the messy scale!):

    Texecom help

11pm the only possibility I can think of is maybe the hot water turns off... but that clearly isn't the cause of this! Entering the code on any of the keypads made no difference. The displays were all frozen and none of the buttons seemed to have any affect. It was like the system had crashed...

    Texecom help

Hi all Thanks to you guys on here my alarm has been working fine for the past month. In the past week though I've had two issues which may or may not be connected on my Premier 48 wired system. - last week at 11pm downstairs only was armed, and the alarm triggered. I checked the logs in...
