    Redfyre centramatic problem

I think all the comments previously cover any advice. Maybe it's time to bite the bullet on replacement.

Heatslave 15/19 - Low hot water pressure.

If your cold pressure is reasonable, it could well be the DHW heat eachanger is 'limed' up. Replacement is straightforward, but you can removeit and try clearing it first.

Worcester Heatslave 12-18, power but no lockout. Won't start.

What burner is fitted? If the motor runs on a Riello burner, then often it is a photocell fault. Why this could stop any movement on the diverter I don't know unless there are actually 2 faults. A faulty programmer can also produce peculiar symptoms. It's time to get out the mulimeter and run...

Replace dial thermostat with portable one.

It matters not that the existing stat has live feeds, as it can be disconnected at the junction box and replace there with a receiver from whichever remote unit you choose. When you have your remote stat, just remember not to hold it in your hand or place iton the window sill in the sunshine, as...

    Gas wall heater lighting

If a balanced flueappliance lights when "blown through a straw", but refuses to light when the sight glass is replaced this suggests a flue problem to me. Switch the thing off and stop messing with something dangerous as you've already been told many times.

How long does Drayton MA1 mid-position actuator last??

I always found it was cheaper to purchase a complete valve and just use the actuator, throwing the valve in my brass scrap, rather than just an actuator. The low cost of the complete unit exemplifies what the trade thought about the quality.

Oil Boiler not heating the water tank in the airing cupboard

looks like a gravity circuit with the vent/feed on the vertical extension from the top cylinder pipe. Have you checked that there is water in the small header tank?

If it works every time for the engineer, why not ask him what you are doing wrong?

    firebird heatpac

If the Alpha refers to a pump fitted to a Grundfos pump with the same model markings, then yes. What does your 'local shop' assistant say? Alternatively you can buy a complete pum and just swap the head. There probably would not be that much difference in price. When you fit the new on, be sure...

    Reillo rdb 2.2 lockout immediately

Have you checked the solenoid coil? Have you checked the motor for jammimg, both with the pump fitted and the pump removed?

Is the boiler hot? If so, it could well be the pump.

    Heating but no DHW

Latching the valve will let water pass, but as far as the controls are concerned, the HW will not be on because the switch in the valve is not made. You will only get hot water whilst there is a heating demand.

Heating oil already has an element of biofuel in it. The boiler will be set up for 28 sec heating oil, no conversions will be necessary.

Immersion hot water not lasting long enough!

If you turn on the boost dial does the hor water come on. It looks as though it gives you an hour, or part of an hour depending on how far you turn it, outside of the Economy 7 programmed times.

Best grant vortex oil boiler for small 5 radiator bungalow?

What regulations will decide whether or not you can fit doubles? What is the Kw heating load you need? Once this is established, you will be able to decide which boiler is best.

    Riello Pump ID

If you disregard the advice of an experienced engineer who did the donkey work for you, and wish to rely on the advice of a parts sales assistant without any experience, then that is your prerogative. People on here with the knowledge and experience are quite willing to offer advice, all in...

    Riello Pump ID

Evertbody on oil is using Bio fuels. It is the industry standard. 'cribbing' is moaning or arguing about a situation. As I said, you know where to get the proper O ring, it just seems you think you should be able to use a cheaper one.

    Riello Pump ID

Whilst it is 'only an O ring', for the cost of the manufacturer's part, why are you cribbing? It is essential that whatever you use needs to be resistant to bio fuels, which nitrile is not.

    Automatic Air Vents

As they are at the highest point, it will be worth keeping them as vents, , but I would replace them with manual vents. You may find that they have a tendency to allow air to enter at some times when the circuit is flowing and the seats will deteriorate causing more loss and requiring constant...
