Have you checked the solenoid coil? Have you checked the motor for jammimg, both with the pump fitted and the pump removed?

Is the boiler hot? If so, it could well be the pump.

Evertbody on oil is using Bio fuels. It is the industry standard. 'cribbing' is moaning or arguing about a situation. As I said, you know where to get the proper O ring, it just seems you think you should be able to use a cheaper one.
