As far as i`m aware, there`s nothing in part L about radiators. Obviously a convector would be more efficient than a panel type.

British gas new boiler policy. Is the leak from a heating pipe (22mm) or dhw pipe (15mm)? Maybe the compression fittings are just loose. May need removing, checking and making good.

The part paul is talking about is directly below the stat you`re describing. It screws into the same pipe, should see green plastic fitting with 2 red wires leading to it. Opposite side of the boiler is another thermistor, this has 2 blue wires leading to it, as paul says, swap the 2...

It simply pushes in. Springs out when tripped. I`m very suspicious about it though. Sounds to me like the stat has been taken off the boiler for whatever reason, it`s a safety control and the boiler shouldn`t be run without it in the correct place. Have a look behind the gas valve on the right...
