Lumps and bumps in professionally laid lawn

Oh he definately will. I have spoken to his wife who does all the admin work for the "company". I am like a dog with a bone... if he doesnt show i will phone them every hour. On the hour. The thing that worries me is that he admitted to the lumps and bumps just after he laid the turf and that...

Lumps and bumps in professionally laid lawn

The lumps are over 2/3 of the full lawn i would say. So for a freshly laid lawn- if you walked over it- would you expect to notice any lumps/bumps? Or should be be poker straight right after it has been laid? The turf was sourced by myself and he ordered and paid for.

Stripping existing stain off a fence

Hi all! I hope someone can help! We have just moved in and getting some new fence either side of our stairs. We want to stain this cuprinol's "Autumn Gold". The problem is that the existing fencing we have, that goes round the garden, is already stained a greeny colour. I assume if i...

I noticed today that the back fence posts are wobbily anyway. So i think they will need replaced anyway... So do you think the raised bit at the back served any purpose?

Decking in my garden + level (and turf) PIC

Can anyone see a reason why I couldn't knock away the raised bit at the back? Is it there to retain the soil from the hill behind? Used for drainage?

Paying a decking company up front?

I got a quote from a decking company for £850 for the decking i want. Which is a good price i would say. He says he needs half up front for building materials as he is a "one man company". The rest on completion. Is this normal??

Decking in my garden + level (and turf) PIC

I got a decent price for the decking so think i am getting someone in to do it. Going to put up the fence and gates myself though. Any tips on this, looking at the pic? It will be a fence either side of the stairs. Would I be better mounting the posts on the existing concrete wall? Or...

Decking in my garden + level (and turf) PIC

Hi, Thanks for your comments. From you information, its definately below 300mm and it doesnt take up more than 50% of the garden. So i won't need planning permission. My wife works for the council anyway so we have direct access :-) Any help with the rest of the questions please?
