    Hi all, Replaced a number of rad valves with thermostatic ones. Is it still neccesary to ballance the rads or can I just leave the lockshields on those rads fully open? If the TRV is controling flow through the rad, cant see the need to restrict output.

    As bahco says, a bit of ptfe tape around the olive works well. Copper olives often more reliable as softer than brass, so compresses better with less tightening force.
