Hi all,
Replaced a number of rad valves with thermostatic ones. Is it still neccesary to ballance the rads or can I just leave the lockshields on those rads fully open? If the TRV is controling flow through the rad, cant see the need to restrict output.

To get the best out of the system, yes you should but you'll probably get away with it. It depends on what settings you have your rads on. If the TRV's are set to max around most of the system then it's possible that the rad furthest away from the boiler could be cooler. Try it and see.
