    Oil Filled Electric Radiator?

I was led to believe the oil filled heaters retained the heat longer which would use less electricity... ?? I may be wrong though. Are there some wall mounted panel radiators that look ok, is that what you are meaning? :)

    Oil Filled Electric Radiator?

Does anyone know of any manufacturer that make stylish oil filled wall mounted electric radiators. Most of them are the one with 4 wheels on that you would have in the garage! Due to difficulties extensing the flow and return on the existing heating system, I am having to look at an oil...

    GAS SUPPLY TO OUTBUILDING

Just a general query, Currently gas meter feeds the new boiler in a main house. Can a gas supply be brought from this point i.e. connected from the copper supply after the meter in the house and run back underground to a separate outbuilding to serve a combi boiler? Could the plumber carry...

    Copper pipes and expansion

0.08mm eh... Have you ever made an expansion loop on a system, would you say a 20m run required one?? 8)

    Copper pipes and expansion

As a rule of thumb, what length of heating F&R pipework requires an expansion loop to be fitted to allow for pipework expansion in copper pipes? Am I correct in saying a 1m length of copper pipe can increase in length by 1mm when hot, hence a 10m length could increase by 10mm?? :)

    UNDERFLOOR HEATING MANIFOLD IN GARAGE?

Are there any issues installing a underfloor heating manifold in a garage beneath the boiler? I assume the pipework from the manifold to the floor could be insulated or would you recommend keeping it out of the garage? The manifold would be feeding rooms directly on the other side of the wall...

Length of pipe for expansion loop

What tends to be the maximum length on a heating system on a straight run before you need to think about incorporating an expansion loop, is 25m excessive ? Does this only apply to copper, or plastic pipework too?

Low water pressure in 3rd floor flat

Chances are that you just have poor water pressure in your area, Thames Water and the like only have to ensure you get at least 1.5 bar pressure at the boundary, it is not their responsibility from then on... i.e if the water supply pipe has to rise to the 3rd floor you could be getting under 1...

    which boiler,new build in ireland

Unfortunately, Building Regulations require a condensing boiler to be fitted, so if you go with an oil fired boiler (Grant Vortex's are good) then it will have to be condensing... although I do agree with numpty1... then are not often in condense mode. If you go with a pellet boiler you need...

    loft and cylinder tank size

If you are going to the trouble of upgrading the system... then why not consider upgrading to a pressurised hot water cylinder and getting rid of the tank in the loft... and you can get rid of the electric shower (reduce running costs) and pump as the whole system will be mains pressure. This...

Any 400 litre cylinders out there!?

Cheers guy, some useful info there. Just out of interest lcgs, what was the 600 litre cylinder serving? I assume it was a non-domestic job? I've not enough space for 2 no. 200litre cyls, but need at least the additional 100 litres or so more than a standard 300litre. I'll have a look at...

Any 400 litre cylinders out there!?

Does anyone know of any company that makes 400litre indirect HW mains pressure cylinders. I see most companies only tend to make them up to 300litre.

How many kW's can 1" gas pipe handle

Thanks muggles, it took a few responses, but I got some sort of answer eventually. I should have probably explained a little further in my opening question. I need to serve a cooker and gas fire from the supply (obviously I won't be doing any work myself!!) But it looks like it can be used to...
