Just removed the seal and with a head torch took a look inside the bottom of the machine. There's nothing at all that looks like it is the other side of the door hinge (from what I can see anyway).

Do you think that that is the problem - the metal plate dropped off at the other side? Any ideas what it might feel like?

And does anyone know how I would get to the door interlock part to remove it? Videos show removing the rubber seal near that part, but there's no retaining clip anywhere above the door seal like I've seen in videos so the seal seems pretty solidly stuck.
