    mass exodus !

Sorry to hear about your son swelec. I think it is terrible that people are 'forced' to use a service. Benefits agencies, some employers, etc insist that you have a bank account - is this right? I had an issue with my bank recently that has really annoyed me. I was charged £75 for them paying...

For added effect you could add another word between the first and last - "right"

Proposed 'Pay As You Drive' Costs

I know that such proposals were discussed some years ago, but didn't come to anything, but the fact that they have reared their head again is a bit worrying. What you say about increasing your prices is exactly what I think will happen if this goes ahead - and no fault of the person giving the...

    Human Rights

I suppose it depends on a person's beliefs. I believe that the cortex is a logical or 'rational thinking' part of the brain - therefore I would liken it to a computer, because it is dealing with the data that has been entered into it from our years of experiences and learning. However, I have...

    Masochism

  The thought of it is bad enough :x I don't have any masochistic tendancies. I suppose the nearest I got to it was when I accidently put Deep Heat a bit 'too far inward' (keeping it clean ) from my thigh :? Oh, and it seems to repel water, so I couldn't wash it off :x...

    Human Rights

Yep, makes sense. A human brain is basically a very complex computer - we put in the data via our sensory neurons, it calculates the data based on prior learning and churns out a result. We put in the 'wrong' or unknown data and who knows what the results may be

Electrician wired bath to kill himself

 I would imagine that this is not a 'pleasant way to go'. I guess that he must have thought about this for some time otherwise I suspect he wouldn't have been so thorough in his method :( The worst thing I saw regarding electrocution was when I was working in a mental health...

Proposed 'Pay As You Drive' Costs

I just read that traffic congestion is proposed to rise by 25% by the year 2015. What it didn't mention was the reason. Does anyone know if it is because there will be more cars on the roads in the UK, or is it because the roads are not being made suitable for shifts in population? (i.e...

Proposed 'Pay As You Drive' Costs

You are right, but I think that fines go to the local area (Council) and not a 'government pool' that the increased fuel tax would. Great if the government will then increase monies relevantly to each Council :P

Proposed 'Pay As You Drive' Costs

Makes sense to me :) Oh, but what about all the money they currently make from Fines for people not having a road tax? Get back to the calculator

    What can be wrong?!!

Would agree with gcol - you will have faster respones by posting this in the Plumbing Section. It sounds like the thermostat has gone for one thing. I would recommend getting it checked/fixed a.s.a.p or you are going to get a horrendous fuel Bill  Good luck

Proposed 'Pay As You Drive' Costs

Just heard on the news about a proposal to charge drivers for their journeys on the roads. At first I thought it sounded like a good idea. However, as the report went it, it got worse. There is no suggestion of getting rid of road tax and then I heard about the proposed charges  eg...

    Personal Health and Safety.

Yeah, I can understand their point and why he got the job. There is almost 30% of a company's workforce absent due to back pain in one year. That's a massive amount, and I would say that it is ALL avoidable if people took more responsibility for their health  Unfortunately our spine...

    To much information uncle sam

I am not sure how your photo could make the transaction more secure - they shouldn't have access to any information where they can see what you look like in the first instance. Pehaps this is now common practice in USA, but I would be warey. Your credit card details and address should be...

    Human Rights

I often wonder why cases involving Human Rights usually focus on the alleged 'criminal'. If someone has committed a crime then in almost 100% of the situations it has had an effect on one or more 'innocent' people. So, what about THEIR Human Rights? The right to be safe from crime, the right to...

    Personal Health and Safety.

If the Company has trained their staff to know that they should wear such protective gear, and the employee chooses not to, then the employee becomes the liable person - basically meaning that if they injure someone else or themself, they have no right to compensation and they would likely have...

Don't some of the banks have set-ups off-shore too (like an oil rig) so business can continue in the liklihood of mainland ones being 'put out of action' ? Making a deposit must be a laugh
