Building Fire regs staircase from kitchen

I mean that house designs change or evolve with time. I must assume then that because there is secondary means of escape from all 1st floor habitable rooms, that the planning/building depts passed this without comment?. The consent was only granted in Sept '09. Not quite sure how they...

Building Fire regs staircase from kitchen

That's what the joiner I mentioned told me, it does however appear to be incorrect though, Yes you wouldn't design it that way from scratch, but things change. Thanks anyway.

    Additional toilet waste

Open vent it is then, just wasnt sure if it was needed, as I had read that only one was required. Had it not had to route round a window I would have done it without asking, thanks for the advice.

    Additional toilet waste

The work is being done under building regs, part of the reason for the question. The whole build has yet to be signed off. Yes, it does connect to the main drain after the primary vent. The new part of the system is external so I guess I should go with a secondary vent stack? Thanks guys.

    Additional toilet waste

Doing a development for the family. 5 bed house. Original toilet waste stack vent runs to above 1/2 roof level so good. Added ground level toilet direct into drain (existing) with no vent. OK? The new bit is a secondary 1st floor toilet, approx 6metres from the primary one. The builder...

Building Fire regs staircase from kitchen

It did recently go through planning and building regs without any any reference to special requirements. It was only when a joiner made a comment that we started to worry a little as we have not had the final inspection yet

Building Fire regs staircase from kitchen

Sorry if it's not clear. The situation is as above. The staircase does descend directly to the kitchen. The question is with that scenario am I in breech of any planning/fire regs :? I know it's not ideal, but is it legal?? Cheers.

    Next new boiler

Please excuse Kevp , I'll deal with him shortly It's not a new install, it is the boiler in the property when we bought it. Now a 17 rad 5 bed house. All heating good but the HW is not acceptable, contant temp, but poor flow. Temp roughly ok, ie not to hot/scalding risk. No issues...

    Next new boiler
