Slight damp in poor circulating area

I'll get some pictures - what in particular would help establish the issue? Just a couple of shots to indicate the construction and area? I'm pretty sure it's poor circulation: corner of the ground floor, front bay window, slate DPC with a solid wall. Property built 1916. Happily take...

Slight damp in poor circulating area

I know the cause, it's the external wall with poorly circulating air. By drilling holes through the wall and covering with a grille, is this likely to resolve the issue?

Slight damp in poor circulating area

I have minimal levels of damp in one corner of the front room (bay window, front of house on external wall). I've moved furniture and curtains as much as possible but I think the area will always suffer so I'd like to try something a little better. What's the least intrusive method for...

Ok, thanks for your replies. I'll give that a go. I was worried about sanding in case it blurred.

    Rustins Oil spillage

The blobs / runs have gone, it's just a shinier patch then the rest of the panel. I applied the oil 3 days ago. How can I get it to match?

    Rustins Oil spillage

Yes, those are the instructions. So are you suggesting to leave it then sand? There's a glossy patch where it ran.

    Rustins Oil spillage

I applied some Rustins oil to a door and I didn't spot some running and it has dried. How do I rectify this? The can suggests cleaning previously oiled surafces with white spirit but that hasn't made much difference. Should I: *Apply more oil to the area as it is *Try with more white...

    What transition strip?

I have laid some laminate floor and the joint between the new floor and next room is around 20mm in height then 15mm with some pressure on the end of the boards. Is there a transition strip I can use that will take up the difference in height and be fixed down to keep some pressure on the end...

    another loft hatch :)

Can you use the joist at the top of the red dotted line as part of your new frame? If so, you're not changing anything structural and just moving the hatch space within the same area. I'd run a length of timber parallel to the "big red" bit of timber so you're connecting them all together...

Which underlay - concrete and chip subfloor

What type of underlay should I pick for these two subfloors: Reasonably even concrete floor - c7m Level chipboard with minimal bounce - c11m I had fibreboard recommended for the chipboard subfloor area and Timbermate for the concrete area. I'm mainly interested in reducing noise...

Oak door - how long to acclimatise?

Hello I'm having an oak door fitted - do I need to leave it to acclimatise to the room it's going in, before fitting it? How long for?
