Question regarding join between old and new plaster

Stand back and have a look at it part way through sanding, it's easy to rub-down sections too much and get an uneven finish. What colour are you painting it? It'll how less with a light colour.

Washing machine cutting power at spin

It is, yes. I have a thread in "UK electrics" that I revived as well.

    Electrical fault or washing machine

The electrician says: "we tested the live to earth and neutral to earth. There was no fault on the socket circuit".

    Electrical fault or washing machine

I'm still getting this issue despite having the carbon brushes replaced and the motor replaced too. My electrician found no electrical fault with the socket or machine, so I assume it's something to do with the workings of the machine. When it hit spins, sometimes it loses power. If I turn...

Washing machine cutting power at spin

My washing machine is cutting power on several circuits in my house when it hits spin - it's not every time but about 50/50. I had the motor changed and carbon brushes replaced but the problem hasn't gone away, nor got much better. If I put the power back on and let the machine continue...

    Damp section of wall

From that photo, the damp section looks very wet in comparison. Have you moved why obstructions I take the photo? Are you 100% sure there's no pipework in the wall?[/list]

    Help...is this asbestos?

Any asbestos has potential to cause disease so avoid it, no matter which type. They do still produce in lots of countries but that doesn't make it worth playing with - our standards, life expectancy and general health are higher in the UK for a good reason. The photos you've given don't...

    Best kitchen unit supply

Thanks for the extra replies - seems like no major flaws in any of those suppliers. We'll probably be at this house for 5 years maximum so I'm sure whatever we get will last.

Thanks to both of you. Also have access to a Magnet account which were recommended to me so might look there too - they look expensive though.

    Replacing section of plasterboard

I have a door frame with a glass panel above which doesn't match the two doors either side. I'd like to remove the glass panel (plus it's frame) and add a section of plasterboard so it's all flush and matches. What should I do to get a flush joint between the three sections of plasterboard...

    Best kitchen unit supply

I'm planning to replace our kitchen units and not sure which supplier to use. I have some options based on access to accounts: Howdens - their range on doors looks a bit limited. I have an account with decen discounts Wickes - had bad reports about the quality but they did have some units we...

    Which paint for which room?

I'm sure it's been covered before but I can't see a thread that quite covers what I'm asking. I have four areas to paint and need to know which paint to use - K&B seems the obvious choice for three of them but I don't like the glossy finish so would prefer something more towards matt. If...

    artex ceiling and plastering query

Without seeing it, it's difficult to advise. Definitely be careful with the Artex in case it's the asbestos containing type.

    Cracks in plaster

May just be movement but I would want to suggest that from 3 photos - get a proper survey done and build repairs into the buying price.

    Find my leak

I'm none the wiser on what's needed different to what I've done/got checked. It's beyond my level of understanding of heating systems. Might be best if you save your time as you seem to be getting flustered by my inability to read. Thanks anyway.
