I have a door frame with a glass panel above which doesn't match the two doors either side. I'd like to remove the glass panel (plus it's frame) and add a section of plasterboard so it's all flush and matches.

What should I do to get a flush joint between the three sections of plasterboard? Options as I see it:

*Cut the plaster on the existing plasterboard, scrim, plaster the new section and then sand flush
*Add filler to the joints only, then send so it's level and a gradual joint to the bare plasterboard
*Some other method

Any advice appreciated.
