Earth to Plastic Pipe?! (Photo Attached)

Hi Guys, We are in the process of getting some building work done and the sparkie has earthed to the kitchen taps. However it looks like they have been earthed to plastic pipes?!?! Is this acceptible?!? I think the earth goes to an outside plug socket but I'm not sure.

Calculating Rad BTU's and room plan (Plans Attached)

The builders think we should go for electric underfloor heating instead. I'm worried its horribly expensive to run. Saying that we hardly use our central heating as oil is so expensive!!

Calculating Rad BTU's and room plan (Plans Attached)

OK I understand. The thing is there are only two places we can have radiators. For this reason I think I just have to order the most powerful ones I can that fit. This will make approx 14,000 BTU.

Calculating Rad BTU's and room plan (Plans Attached)

Is it really that hard to work out what rads you need? There are 101 calculators online? I'm grateful for your opinion but I don't really want to have to find a plumber and organise myself. I will though if thats what people recommend. Many thanks for your help.

Calculating Rad BTU's and room plan (Plans Attached)

Ok... hmm what to do... I don't know a plumber who I can trust. The one we used last time was in prison for losing his Corgi!!

Calculating Rad BTU's and room plan (Plans Attached)

Oh but I have been asked to do it from the start? I've just been told to supply radiators ready for the plumber who will fit them whilst I am away. I forwarded the plans to the building company to get them to take a look.

Calculating Rad BTU's and room plan (Plans Attached)

Hi Folks, I need to order some rads but I'm struggling to get hold of the plumber. I need to order them and I'm going away on holiday soon. I thought it would be great to get others opinion too. I was going to give him the plans below. Do my calculations look reasonable and do you think...

To prime or not to prime...

We are having building work done. The facia boards went up today. Shouldn't they have been primed first on all sides? If I just prime what I can get to will that be ok?

Isolators on radiator pipes... what should I do?

Hi Folks, We did have a tiny radiator (400mm wide) fitted with compression valves from existing pipes from the floor that used to server an 800mm wide radiator. I have removed the small radiator and want to put back a new 800mm radiator as its a cold room and the old pipes looked messy...

    Strange size radiators..

Well according to an online calculator I used the room needs about 15000 BTU. The taller ones with dual convectors should improve things. It's just a shame we can't afford to use the heating anyway!

    Strange size radiators..

Wow, you are good. That is EXACTLY what they are?! They have no convectors inside. Should I replace them with taller ones of same width that have convectors? We simply can't get the room warm right now and there is a tonne of insulation above.

    Strange size radiators..

Hi Guys, I want to replace two old radiators in the coldest room in the house. It has three external solid brick walls. Right now the room is 5m x 6m in size. Pretty Big! It has two dual layer radiators but with no convectors in the middle. They are both 115cm x 54cm in size. I...

HELP Downstairs Radiators Won't drain off!!

Thanks for your response. I really don't know. How can I tell? I attached a hose pipe to a radiator upstairs and pushed water thought. Loads of black gunk came out even thought it had been "power flushed" buy our plumber when we had a new boiler fit. When it started to run almost clear there...

HELP Downstairs Radiators Won't drain off!!

Hi Guys, I need to get Sentinal x800 out the system. It's been in there a week which I gather is too long. I'm draining the system. All the upstairs rads are empty with bleeds open. I have opened all the lock valves on the ones downstairs but most of them still leak water through the...

Noisy Radiators after & before adding Sentinel x800

Looks like I'll be doing that first thing in the morning then. Thanks folks!! Please don't leak in the nigh central heating!?! I'll be forced to live outside with the chickens.

Noisy Radiators after & before adding Sentinel x800

Nope... I suppose I should. :S I'll do that and post back. I suppose if it dislodges stuff it needs to come out to stop the noise. The problem is it drains out really slowly.... I think it doesn't actually fulsh it out. I might attach a hose to a radiator filling kit I have and flush...
