    Texecom COM-GSM No signal??

Swapped COM ports - no difference. Put aerial outside as high at head height - no difference. Tried Orange SIM card (the network of my mobile which works fine down in the cellar) - no difference I have been on the phone to Texecom and they advise either "put the aerial somewhere else" or...

    Texecom COM-GSM No signal??

Thanks for the reply. I might try swapping the COM ports although in the manual it did say use COM2 for the 24, COM1 or 2 for the 48 etc; The stick is vertical, next I'll try putting it outside the front door and see if it makes any difference, and thanks for the ATS fault delay tip I will try...

    Texecom COM-GSM No signal??

I recently upgraded my house alarm with a Texecom Premier Elite 24 polycarb model. So far so good, I am getting the hang of the programming and have got through the basics and have a working alarm. I then moved onto the COM-GSM unit. The signal strength is showing as -999dB or -113dB depending...

texecom premier Flush mount vs Surface mount.

Very interesting - any chance of some details of the hardware and software you used to achieve this?

    Bell box wiring insecure??

yes that's what i'm talking about - if the burglar smashes the panel off the wall the bell will continue to sound. anyway i'm just looking at it technically not weighing up the likely behaviour of burglars. i don't suppose they'll put the kettle on, and have a cup of tea whilst checking out...

    Bell box wiring insecure??

yes i was thinking more about the situation where the alarm is going off but the bell can be silenced by access to the panel or wiring.

    Bell box wiring insecure??

No problem with all of the above, i understand. Whilst looking for some instructions for something else I came across this - http://www.cqr.co.uk/technical-support/bellbox-faqs these bell boxes seem to be similar to the FSL wiring - they require resistors in the control panel. I suppose it...

    Bell box wiring insecure??

I am renewing the alarm panel with a texecom premier elite 24 and a few new sensors. I've learnt about how to do the FSL - two resistor wiring so that the sensors cannot be shorted out and disabled. I am concerned about the bell box though. It's a standard 5 wire one. If a burglar was to...

Cheap but reliable wired alarm with GSM

thanks i've priced that up at £244. I was hoping to pay a bit less but this seems like a good professional system? From reading the installation manual it seems like I need the USB interface and program it from the laptop, or can it be done from the keypad? I think I need to use APN programmer...

Cheap but reliable wired alarm with GSM

Hi, hope someone might be able to advise me. I have an Accenta 8 alarm which I am happy with having moved sensors etc; I want the ability for the alarm to text me if it is triggered and also for me to be able to cancel (or trigger?) it remotely. (I am also setting up cctv I can view remotely.)...

    Replacing render

Hi I have a 1905 house, there is the usual infill panel between an downstairs and upstairs bay window. This is made of bricks set in a timber frame. The textured render on the outside has cracks that I have attempted to seal but it is very ugly and I would like to replace it. Lime render...

Vaillant discontinue VRC 430 before replacement is in stock?

HI I was wondering if you could elaborate on how the Hortstman control is connected as well as the VRC410. I am using a VRC400 connected by eBus at present but would prefer to us a simpler control but keep the weather compensation.

Diverter valve on Vaillant EcoTec 824

Just an update to finish off the thread for anyone else that might be looking in the future.. The valve is electrically operated so the diagnostic d.35 was reading what the boiler was trying to set it to, not where it was actually set. I did also check the flow rate (diagnostic d.36) and that...

Diverter valve on Vaillant EcoTec 824

Hi, hope someone can help or comment on my diagnostics 1) Hot Water is cold 2) Central Heating fires up OK. 3) When Hot water is switched on, the boiler fires up but the heat goes to the CH circuit. 4) I diagnose that the diverter valve is not operating correctly and not diverting heat to...

Help Need with Guide Bush - Joining Worktops

i think you could have got your money back. i've had a £50 screwfix one for years and it has done loads of hard work without once complaining. the accuracy in the bearings probably isn't as good as a festool etc; (not htat i've ever noticed it) but the motor is smooth and has plenty of power.
