I've got an ok one. Bit dearer than £16 but it won't switch this brake pads light. But probably because it doesn't find it as a fault. That might be because it's a problem with the Loom and not an actual fault with the pads.

I've got a check break pads message showing on the dashboard. I had it checked and the garage said it was a fault with the loom. They would delete it for £40 or leave it if I wasn't bothered. I'd assumed it wasn't a problem but wonder now if an MOT tester would fail it for that?

Two separate lintels with dpc tray over. That way the place was easy to secure that night. And less stress.

Did you get this done OP? We did one with the joists parallel and knotched the joist the thickness of a strong boys arm and ground the blockwork enough to slip the lintel in under it. Also did the outer wall separately a week later to make things easier.

Ive tried looking online for how strong to mix the concrete. Everything ive seen talks about aggregate and sand. I just want to use all in ballast. Anyone know? Cheers.

That's what happened. Apparently the meter is plastic and they don't like it up em. So not too bad. Only trouble was I've been up since 4 o'clock ish and was still late for work.

Little update. Once daylight was reasonable I went out to the meter in the street. It was like a jacuzzi. So I turned that off and the noise stopped and rang the water supplier. I should have done that in the night. I'm hoping the fault is the other side of the meter. Thanks for your replies.

Hello we noticed on the middle of the night a continuous noise that seems to be coming from the stop cock. It's hard to describe as it's not a screech or whistle but somewhere in between. I've tried turning the stop cock off and running some taps and isolating the taps which reduced the noise...

Just wondered if anyone has any advise or knows about any regs regarding structural beams and when you need have them painted or galvanised. One is in the middle of the house so I was going to leave that alone, but one is over a window. Any ideas? Cheers.

I sse what you mean. I think its beyond that, you cant pull it down with the screwdriver as theres no resistance. It will just flop down on its own.

When you say press release are you talking about the key fob? And do you mean tugging the screwdriver down? If so there's no resistance to pulling out down that bit won't lock at all.
