new home, long wait for hot water

Hi there, First off, the 1bar on the front is the pressure in the central heating side and nothing to do with the flow of hot water. As for the time being taken, that is mainly down to 2 things, the length of pipe runs to each outlet and the flow rate of the incoming cold mains. Rico

Converting handle operated toilet to a button one.

Ant, Yes it does refer to the flush volume, but that is determined by the time the flapper stays open. Just follow the troubleshooting guide and you'll soon have it sorted. The handle is easy to use though is'nt it. I still don't understand why it has taken so long for these things...

Converting handle operated toilet to a button one.

Ant, All depends on the position of the airhole on the flapper. If you take a look, the flapper has numbers around it. 1-9 form memory. If as position 1, then the flapper will drop almost straight away. Position 9 it stays open longer. You just need to work out the best number to get...

Converting handle operated toilet to a button one.

Ant, Fluidmaster is def the way to go. The handle/button only needs the slightest touch as all you need to do is break the seal between the rubber flapper and the outlet. Once that is done the air inside the flapper takes it the reat of the way, filling with water and eventually closing...

Draining down a central heating system

Hi again, Depends on how you're going to change the pipework, if soldering, then yes full drain down is best, as you can't solder wet pipes. If using compression fittings, then you should be able to "bung" the system and just alter ONE pipe at a time to hold the vacuum in the pipework. Rico

Draining down a central heating system

Hi there, Depends on if you have to change any of the pipework, or its just the valves that are being changed and also on what type of system you have. Open Vented or sealed. If sealed easiest to just to drain whole lot. If open and just changing valves you could "BUNG" the system as...

Converting handle operated toilet to a button one.

Hi there, These systems from Fluidmaster really are the dogs. Firstly, what type of toilet do you have close coupled or low level, not that it really matters anyway. Only other thing you need to check is the size of the oulet on the bottom of your current syphon. As you will see in the...
