Bristan Artisan Evo - any experiences ?

I'm looking at one of these digital mixer showers to go on a Baxi duotec. , they come with the single ceiling feed with either a riser bar or a ceiling shower rose type fitting. Also a wireless control pad. The concept looks good and they come in at around £220. I can't find any comments on...

Big water flow difference downstairs/upstairs- combi concerns

After posting I thought about it and recalled that I fitted new taps a few years ago which seemed to slow the flow drastically, I think they were something with some sort of ceramic internals. Likewise I thought about the ball valve and the potential restrictions therein. Think I will leave it...

Big water flow difference downstairs/upstairs- combi concerns

Out of interest and before I get a combi boiler fitted I thought I would do a laymans measurement of water flow in the house. By no means scientific or a dynamic measurement, I used a 2 litre container and timed filling. Kitchen tap was 6 seconds so around 20 litres minute I then did the...

Can someone talk me through a stair balustrade replacement

I'm looking at replacing the handrail, spindles and base rail on the staircase at my daughters house. It's a straight run up the stairs and a return on the landing. She is wanting it done in Ash. I'm also looking at the newel posts and possibly replacing them with the socket dowelled part...

Are digital showers compatible with combis?

I think I'm going to move away from the digital shower idea and go for a conventional mixer. Particularly if the preheat function won't work if plumbed to the combi as it was that and the ease of piping which were the main reasons with sticking with a digital.

Are digital showers compatible with combis?

This comes back to my boiler dilemma and the 2 differing size boilers I've been recommended. I know I'm somewhere between a Baxi 33kw and 40kw. So would a 40 be a better match for a digital shower in terms of flow and temp balance or would this present modulation problems if I'm "over boilered "...

Are digital showers compatible with combis?

I currently have a pumped Mira magna digital on a gravity system but due to a new combi boiler installation next month I'm obviously going to have to get rid of the pumped Mira. I've looked at the Mira platinum digital and was on the point of ordering but there seems to be a lot of adverse...

Vokera combi dropping .5 bar a week. -Update

Just to get things back under one thread here goes. I put a pot under the pressure pipe outlet and after a day found an egg cup full of water in it. The heating hadn't been run at all so the discharge had happened under hot water only conditions. The gauge had shown some pressure loss so I...

A bit of an update on the Vokera pressure loss.

Ah! Sorry about that, the thread had dropped down to page 3 so I didn't think it would get seen. Here's a link but basically all it said was the boiler was losing half bar a week http://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/vokera-combi-dropping-5-bar-a-week.463999/

A bit of an update on the Vokera pressure loss.

I hung a pot on the PRV outlet pipe yesterday. Went back today and there was an egg cup full of water in the pot. I topped fill loop back up to 1.5 bar and put the heating on. The pressure goes up to 3.1 bar when the heating is on. Is the starting point in the case the expansion vessel. If so...

Boiler size - conflicting engineer advice

Crikey......if someone ever said "it's not rocket science" when referring to heating technology they obviously never read this thread!!! I have scrabbled through the wreckage on my hands and knees and I think I've salvaged that a Baxi DT is perhaps not the best out there but not bad at that...

Boiler size - conflicting engineer advice

I've had 2 different heating engineers round to advise on installing a combi boiler to replace existing 30 year old boiler. I'm wanting a Baxi Duo Tec. One has suggested the 33 will be more than sufficient for my needs, the other says the 40 will be better "just to be sure" Now I know that...

Mira Magna - switching to combi

Thanks for the replies looking at prices of a Mira mixer on its own it may be cheaper to buy a new shower. Will there be sufficient thickness in the egg box type wall to conceal the down pipes and back feed into the block
